Product Information | |
Joe Montana returns to endorse Sega's third football game for the Genesis, which is the first to carry the NFL license. Now you can play as one of 28 professional teams based on the 1991 season. Choose either a single Exhibition Game or League Play, where you'll embark on a 16-game schedule with the hopes of reaching the Super Bowl. A password will let you continue your season once you're ready to call it quits. NFL Sports Talk Football '93 supports a Coach mode that involves calling plays and watching the computer carry them out. You can also team up with a friend to challenge the computer or play head-to-head. Tired of only one look at the field? The game offers four different perspectives: horizontal, blimp, vertical offense and vertical defense. The zooming camera returns from 1991's game, meaning the perspective will change to a closer view as the ball crosses the line of scrimmage. Sports Talk fans will be happy to hear the commentary has doubled for more complete play-by-play. Other options include adjustable quarters (5, 10 or 15 minutes), three difficulty levels, and three different weather conditions (fair, rain or snow). |

These kinds of early sports games proved that Genesis does what Nintendon't
This groundbreaking title was the first console game to provide spoken play-by-play commentary. It featured prominently during the "Genesis does what Nintendon't" marketing campaign. It was an early proof of concept that the Genesis could handle computer AI better than any Nintendo-branded system. The playbook is outdated yet simple enough to quickly pick up and get going. With some experimenting you'll soon find a team that matches your style of rushing and passing.
