Bought this item because my Mac would no longer connect to internet through WiFi at my house. Plugged it into the Ethernet cable and into usb in my Mac and, surprise, it worked. One week later it’s still working.

DO NOT BUY FOR NINTENDO SWITCH!!!!!!!

So I just received this adapter in the mail today and I was hoping that I would be able to use it with my Nintendo Switch for smoother smash bros online play but the truth is that this adapter is NOT supported for Switch! Only official Nintendo Switch Lan adapters or the one by Hori will work because it’s using a different connection code or something like that. Bottom line though, don’t but this for your Switch. The product is great however if you want to use it for a laptop or Destiny computer and its a good quality product just not for my intended use. Anyways hope this helped out while making your selection! Just spend the few extra bucks on the Hori one and save yourself the hassle.

SImple way to direct connect a notebook with a USB but no RJ45

I have a small notebook that I use in a place out of range of our home's wifi. I have a hub there and can just connect. I could create a closer wifi port but this was simple and cheap. The notebook has several USB sockets but no RJ45. This adapter works perfectly under Linux Mint 18.1, on Lenovo 110S ideapad.

Very Pleased

This works very nicely for me. It installed easily with the supplied mini-CD. I got it because backups between machines over wi-fi were taking too long with communication running about 25Mbps. With this plugged in I get the full 100Mbps that my network is capable of and backups happen 4x faster now. One additional unexpected benefit is that using various versions of Win7 on various machines, the backup wi-fi connection was sometimes twitchy. It would take some fooling around to get the machines to recognize each over over the network and begin backing up. With this ethernet adapter it works first time, every time with no fooling around.

Gigabit RJ45 Ethernet Lan network Adapter

I had to get this because the laptop I got did not have the Ethernet port for wired. I was suppressed how well it work with my ISP. It is small and I can carry it in my laptop bag. It is also good that it has led lights so you can see if it working, It was worth the money. It does use the usb 3.0 port with out and problems. I have not tried the usb 2.0 port yet.
