Very small -- which was the idea. And it seems to have enough power for the small gigs. Very easy to pack, could fit in the pocket of a soft bass case.

The Trace Elliot ELF. Tiny/lightweight Yes. Fit and finish. Yes. Cool green/black paint scheme. Yes. Sound. ABSOLUTELY NO! Sonics are a very individual thing, but if you are looking for an amp that will make your bass sound thin like a Strat on the back pick up, then get one of these. In my many years of playing through just about everything ever made in bass amplification, from tube amps like Amps B-15's, Fender Bassman etc, to owning amps from The Godfather of Class D (small/lightweight switching amps from the incomparable Walter Woods) the ELF to my ears anyway, is a DOG. You will be much happier I believe with class D offerings from Aguilar, TC Electronics, Eden, Markbass, Gallien, just to name a few. This amp just misses the mark sonically, with the weirdest EQ I have ever tried to deal with. The fact I even need to eq my Sadowsky bass at all with this amp says it all. For the record, the ELF single 10" offering is just as tragic. It's an ugly sounding combination. All this said, if this thing sounds good to you, then you'll have a blast transporting it, which is truly it's best feature. Read full review

I ordered the Trace Elliot Elf after seeing one in a local music store and was impressed by the small unit. After receiving the Elf I plug it into a custom bass cab I built while waiting for my Oder to arrive. This is a 1x15 wedge dual Ported box with a 3x7 high/mid horn filled with a Celestion Cream back 15. With no problems whatsoever with adequate power to push the 15. Super simple set up I just plugged the little beast into my cab and plug in power. I touched no settings at first just plugged my bass in and this thing came to life. Chest throbbing low end Chrystal clear high end, and plenty of headroom for volume. Super convenient line out went to my board from the board into GarageBand. I can’t stop playing this thing it sounds perfect, there is no other words to say it. The Trace Elliot Elf is absolutely perfect and I would say a must buy item. Way to go guys in this micro beast of an amp!Read full review

Very affordable and portable bass amp head. As advertised it fits in my gig bag within the enclosed pouch. Nice and simple to operate and the headphone jack ( old school 1/4” = awesome) Works great. I can plug in my old favorite headphones. I purchased the 10” speaker and this is now my home practice amp and will be used on small gigs. I was never a Trace Elliot guy but this is a nice product.

These are supposed to be paired with a single 8" & 10", sometimes 2x10" cabinet. Honestly, that's selling this head short. I paired it with my Hartke transporter series single 18" and what a match made in heaven. The only drawback to this unit is at 90% gain, it jumps in signal so much that it hisses incredibly loud. It might be due to the fact that this particular unit was an open box buy. Nobody I've talked to said they have encountered this issue, so that's what I'm going with. At 50% gain and full volume there's no distortion and it rattles our entire church (about 12,000sq feet first and second floor). The direct out is absolutely whisper quiet too. I'll probably get another one for my house as this unit will live at the church.
