Aim down the sights in the action-packed shooter game Time Crisis 4. This is the fourth game in the Time Crisis series published by Namco, and it was released in 2006. It follows the story line of the first three games, but this time, you get to play as William Rush, an intelligence officer for the United States. After unearthing a new terrorist cell, William sets off on a grand adventure to uncover their plans. Throughout his journey, he encounters a variety of new and exciting weapons. He also encounters enemies, which he must take down. Available on the Sony PlayStation 3, this game features a first-person shooter mode. It also allows players to change camera angles and customize guns. Players can move through the story line in single player mode or team up with a friend in the two-player local co-op mode.Like its predecessors, Time Crisis 4 was originally released as an arcade shooter with built-in laser guns. The built-in laser guns were incorporated when Time Crisis was ported for the PlayStation as the games ship with an exclusive GunCon 3 light gun peripheral especially designed for use with Time Crisis and the PlayStation. The original arcade game starred Giorgio Bruno and Evan Bernard as two V.S.S.E. agents who are assigned to track down a terrorist cell lead by Marcus Black. The console video game release added five missions of new content featuring William Rush that set up the plot. After playing through Rush’s missions, players take control of Bruno and Bernard as they take action against the terrorists in a rush to Buckley AFB to stop a nuclear weapon attack that threatens to destroy the United States.Time Crisis 4 is a free-range first-person shooter (FPS) game that utilizes the specialized gun peripherals rather than traditional console controllers. Because of this, accurate shooting requires aiming the gun at the screen correctly rather than aiming the reticule through the controller. This offers players a sense of realism and urgency. Like previous Time Crises games, gamers are able to cycle between different weapons at their disposal to meet the needs of the crises as it unfolds. The Guncon is also outfitted with two analog sticks that are used to maneuver the characters while exploring the environments. Players can search the environments for power-ups and ammo.To make the mission more challenging, different elements of gameplay are introduced. For example, some missions require Bernard and Bruno to hold a certain area, and they are penalized with the loss of a life if they fail. Others require using armored vehicles and sniping enemy tires and other actions. Still others feature a familiar trait in arcade shooting games where the enemies have to be shot while players take care to avoid friendly fire. There are several different modes of play, including the campaign and crisis missions. These are meant to enhance replayability as well as provide practice in using the guncon peripheral. | |

Time Crisis 4 Review
Time Crisis 4 is a great game, however only when you play as a single player. If you are super lucky to get second guncon3, two-player mode divides your TV letterhead style and makes everything smaller and harder to shoot. There's no system link feature to play two-player mode with two PS3s, two TVs, and two TC4 copies even if you had all the equipment. To make gameplay more arcade-like, you can use a Rock Band drum kit's bass pedal to crouch/reload instead of a button on the guncon3; so long as you reassign it to controller 1. There's a FPS mode, but not as fun as an actual FPS game. I feel that the controls are a bit awkward when playing this mode. Mini games are just actually shooting ranges and test your accuracy. Maybe I was expecting it to be more "game-like" like duck hunt. In conclusion, Time Crisis 4 is only fun playing single player campaign. But definitely fails to be fun with two players.
Fun and different peripheral
Easy to set up and feels comfortable in your hands. A little awkward to control at first but really fun once you get the hang of. Not too many games where made, or are compatible with this peripheral. It's more for collectors not casual gamers I would say.

Pretty good.
I always played this in the arcade and didn't want to go and spend quarters on it anymore so I just decided to get it. The arcade mode is great. Replay value is medium because of the different difficulties. The first person shooter mode was killed by the fact that it's so slow paced. There's a variety of mini-games however than can be pretty fun and challenging. I would recommend this game to anyone who enjoyed this arcade series, however, I wouldn't recommend paying over $50 dollars for the game + gun. After 50 dollars, it just wouldn't be worth it.
Exactly what it says it is. A Time Crisis Game.
I love this game cause it's exactly what it says it is. A Time Crisis game, just like in the arcade. Everybody slams this game because they expect it to be a next gen fps. It's not nor does it try to be. It is a home version of an arcade game. The Guncon 3 controller is a great peripheral and responds well in my opinion. I bought this game primarily for the 2 player, this is a game my brother and I used to play in the arcade. It is everything it promises to be. Nothing more, nothing less.
