I bought this CD set as a hunch that it would be good. I was eager to hear Neil Diamond sing the old movie hit songs. I wasn't disappointed, and liked the fact that he was backed by a full orchestra. He's up there with Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, Perry Como and Dean Martin. There are about 3 numbers I don't care for, but I don't care for them no matter who sings them. All in all the two CDs are enjoyable and I've been listening to them frequently.

What I like it about that it is not the usual Neil Diamond album, but having the orchestra with it make it sounds like a standard classic. He did pick some songs that needed a fresh start that haven't been heard in years. What I love about it it is worth hearing it again and again. The beatles classic and Ol Blue eyes seem more romantic. What I don't like about it is that it should been on 1 cd. Then it would be less of a weight. Anyway, worth the wait for sure.
I purchased this CD thinking I enjoy the great tunes from these movies, and Neil Diamond was my first favorite artist. It is even better than I expected. But what did we expect when it is Neil Diamond? Love this.. Great selection on Movie Tunes Lots of memories and wonderful sound. Did I say I love this one?
Neil's style works best when he doesn't try to hard to imitate the original way the song was sung for example with As Time Goes By. He does much better with for example In The Still Of The Night which is almost like a new song with his brand. Its always interesting for performers like me to hear stars doing someone else for learning. Steve
everything we expected it to be, based on being long-time Neil Diamond fans..his renditions of all of the songs on this album are beyond great!
