I bought my first Singer in 1986 and it still works perfectly today. It was a very basic machine with only straight and zig zag stitch, so I wanted a new machine with additional stitch types. Of course, I had to go with another Singer. So far, this new machine has definitely lived up to it positive pedigree!

After working in factorys and learning a lot about fixing machines i see a lot of breakable plastic in the bobbin area which looks very easy to break plastic. Also after walking in to Walmart today and seeing this same machine for 99.00 dpllars i must say I was quite dissapointed in the price I paid here .check around first

I wanted a simple machine that doesn't weigh a ton to take with me on quilting adventures and to classes. This Singer seems really well made for the price. (Unlike the Brother I have that was in the same price range, which is loud and has a tinny feel to it) It comes with the basics. All I wanted to add was a 1/4" foot, for quilting, which I found at my local Joann for about $10. Now I'm all set! This is my first machine with a drop in bobbin and I think that will be nice, to be able to keep an eye on the thread before it runs out. Also appreciate that there is an automatic needle threader. The only negative is the cover it comes with is made of very cheap material (almost like paper or interfacing!) but that's not a big deal. I can sew a better one!

I love this machine it has the most important feature for me is the self treading needle I have glaucoma and very hard to see close up and I would recommend this machine to the world it’s easy and and has all I need it came early and I can’t stop finding things to see !!! Thank you singer for this wonderful machine Thank you. Kay Smith

I am really enjoying my new sewing machine!! The only complaint that I have is that I have not been able to use the self-threading mechanism for the needle. It completely eludes me, even with the owner's manual and quick-start guide. I will try to use the You Tube video to see if I can figure it out! Aside from that, the machine is easy to use, especially when I need to wind the bobbin. Very happy with this purchase overall!
