You can find a gear for any terrain with this cassette. The 36 tooth ring makes climbs a bit easier. Installation is what you'd expect, slide it on and tighten the locking ring. Shifting is quick and quiet. If you're looking for a good 9 speed cassette, you really can't go wrong with this one.

I needed a cassette with a 36T granny gear and this shimano part is the best price for performance out there. It weighed less than the SRAM 11-34 it replaced, and has proven quite durable. I have ridden it over the winter for the past 6 months (our winters are long), and it just keeps ticking away. There may be lighter weight units but they will cost more. There may be cheaper units but they will weigh more. This part is perfect if you are on a budget and but need something better than "entry level" for a modest upgrade, or general replacement. If I decide to change the gearing in any of my other bikes I will likely purchase this product again.

Great combination 12-36.... running with 52-42-26 triple .... on an Easy Racers long wheel base recumbent... 26-36 is great for steep climbs (any lower gearing likely to slow for me to balance). 52-12 is plenty speedy on downhills. Most of the cogs are bolted together there are no spiders on this model. Could be lighter but it is what it is.

I use these on my touring bike for durability and the gear ratio are great for hill climbing and flat roads.

From 11-32T to 11-34T and now 12-36T. This is a step on the right direction. I got it on both of my bike and it is great. 100% recommended.
