Bought this chain to replace another one on a bike with Shimano XTR components. It definitely works just fine, there’s Shimano and then there’s that say Shimano compatible, and usually they are not completely compatible. If you have a Shimano drive train DO NOT put another manufacturer’s drive train parts on your bike, it’s not worth the risk.

I have used different chains and have found the Ultegra to be the quietest and most cost effective chain available. KMC does last a little longer but I really like quiet and is a bit cheaper than other vender chains of equal quality level. I do wish they had the easy removal link instead of the 1 time usage pin. I remove the chain for deep cleaning so I don't use the pin.

Prefer to buy in consumer package as the lube in this packaging is far superior to the chains that come in bulk and are then re packaged for sale. You can possibly buy a lighter chain but not a better shifting long lasting chain for the buck.

These are all I use on my bikes, and they get replaced yearly, as the Dura-Ace cassettes run about $180 on e bay, chains are a lot less expensive and prolong the cassette life.

I replaced a worn SRAM chain as I'm running Dura Ace 9000 cranks, Di2 Ultegra derailleurs and Shimano cassette. The drivetrain is silky smooth and quiet like new again. Although this chain doesn't come with an EZ connecting link, the snap off connecting pin worked perfectly with a chain tool to press it in. Make sure you measure your old chain length properly and install the chain with the letter facing out as it is directional.
