Long battery life
Small form factor
Mobile experience with customization.
If you the kind of person who like to change things around often this phone is allows more freedom of customization the iphone. I've had this phone for over two months now and loving it. First downside is that it comes with a bunch of preloaded apps just like windows. It's kind of annoying when updating. The display is awesome.and the second is batterie life. But one the good side just the right size to be able to watch video and browse the web. what i like the most is the ability to customize and set the phone to match my style of use. I'm one of those who my life rotates around my phone and a bit of a perfectionist. the app market is great. lots of free app and syncs well with my PC.
Sputtering Skyrocket: good device, so-so phone
The Samsung Galaxy S II I727, marketed as the Skyrocket 4G, was supposed to be AT&T's flagship for its Long Term Evolution (LTE) network when it debuted in late 2011, and for the most part, the device lives up to its billing. The middle child of three in the carrier's S II series (which includes the I777 and I927 phones), Samsung and AT&T joined forces to deliver a blazing-fast Android 2.3 device on a backbone that was, at the time, still very much in beta Here in 2014, I was looking for an older smartphone that could run current software and not be on contract, as well as to study the Android platform in greater depth. Having tried and failed on the preceding I777 (a faulty radio/antenna prevented most calls sent and received), I decided to give the Skyrocket a shot. As an Android device, the Skyrocket doesn't disappoint. Within its original lifetime, the phone passed through two major upgrade points in Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0), and Jelly Bean (4.1) The 1.5 GHz dual-core processor allows for a particular fluidity not seen in previous devices. The included applications are thus more responsive than in most Android devices of the same vintage. Unfettered access to the thousands of apps on Google Play is perhaps this phone's greatest asset, with its 4G smarts a distant second. You could very well use it as a stand-in portable gaming device, or as a "second screen" for the Internet. As a phone, though, this S II, like its predecessor, suffers greatly from bad antenna placement and/or a weak radio. The majority of voice calls in my area will still fail, be they outbound or inbound. YMMV. This may also be due to AT&T's ongoing upgrades of the 4G backbone; as these phones get older, the infrastructure supporting them will naturally wane away as the tech continues to advance. Adding insult to injury, the Skyrocket is unusually particular about the use of a SIM card with LTE modification; an ordinary SIM just won't do at all. Still, on this used circuit, a working Skyrocket can be a great value for the money. If you're a tinkerer, it may just be the best, period.
Good phone - almost there
Great droid compared to what is available when it was first put into market. There are still a few short falls. There a few lag issues - not all the time. Games, especially HD, run really smooth. This is probably the second or third best phone out there because of the HTC One X. Plays videos and music really well. The HDMI out is really great. Good browsing experience. I love what it does. Perhaps its the Touchwiz or droid OS that makes it lag at times. I know it performs better than my friends' or coworkers' phones. Quadrant rated it pretty high. The highest score I got (non-rooted) was 3708. The lowest was around 2400 with lots of apps loaded in the memory.
Finally a smart phone that people of all ages can use!
I went to a smartphone because I needed to take credit cards on my phone for a new business I was opening. I had an apple iphone and I just did not like it. This samsung product was very easy to manuver between the files and screens. I do have to say that samsung customer support was very helpful as well. What I don't like is that I was told that all my music which is on Itunes is not compatible with samsung's software and I have to download every over to a different file and then over to my phone....have not figured out how to do that as of yet...As far as comparison to others, I am happy and I would go to another samsung product as soon as I figure out about the music.
The Name says it all "sky rocket" and its every bit exactly that
I have owned many smart phones and all around this phone is one of the best phones on the market for the price, fast processor, consumer friendly easy to you use excellent display, the battery when used often, wears down, but all around an excellent phone,I would highly recommend this phone
