| SWAT 4 is a 3D action game that puts players in command of a squad of special weapons and tactics police, and challenges them to solve tense, dangerous situations with discretion and responsibility befitting an elite officer of the law. The game's selection of authentically designed weapons includes several non-lethal choices, such as tear gas and flashbang grenades; as in real life, the ultimate goal of the police team is not to maim or kill the suspects, but to apprehend them before they can cause any harm to innocent bystanders (or themselves). Each time a level is played, the computer places criminal suspects and potential civilian hostages randomly around the map, so missions pose new dangers and solutions each time they are attempted. VU Games' Sierra-brand SWAT series began on home computers, but moved to consoles with the 2003 release of SWAT: Global Strike Team. The series returns to PC with SWAT 4, which was developed by Irrational Games, a studio known for its refined craftsmanship of earlier sequels such as Tribes: Vengeance and System Shock 2. | |

One of the email best games ever! !!
I love this game and the expansion makes it even better if you plan to purchase it... never a dull moment in this game... make sure to but seat 4 and swat 4 the stechkov syndicate... it works on windows 10 and game play has a great AI ... The ability to control multiple squads and a sniper make it as realistic as possible.... it's great when you replay a mission and even on easy you and die with one bullet which makes it amazing to know you have all of the options available to accomplish each mission with a vast variety of guns, non lethal weapons and then gadgets to use ... I recommend this game and I hope everyone grabs it while you can but shop around or wait because some morons like to put the gold edition which has swat 4 and the expansion in one box; for am insane price from 75 to 100 dollars... which no game is worth that kind of cheddar.... I hope this review helps anyone interested in buying this game... just remember the expansion won't work unless you have the original swat 4 which is 2 disc's and the expansion is 1 disc... thanks all !!!

Future Classic!!
Swat 4 is an overall great game. The online play is so much fun. There are very few glitches in the game, the weapons are realistic as well as the tactics used. Swat 4 is my favorite online game I play. I have approximately 550 hours of game play(using a program), that's how much I love it. Even though the game has been out for a while it is still great and is unlike most other tactic based games. I could easily see Swat 4 as a classic game in the future! Swat 4 is better than F.E.A.R. In my opinion just because of how the online play is much better.. Single player is not bad either, but multi-player is much better. There are two different patches out right now. 1.1 and 1.2. 1.1 fixes bugs in the game and adds some new levels. 1.2 adds an anti-cheat program, fixes bugs, adds new maps and customized previous maps, adds new weapons and more realistic weapons and much more. 1.1 so many weapons like the tazer, pepper-ball gun, the Colt M4 and so many more. 1.2 patch has even more more weapons.. 80 primary/secondary weapons and 12 new maps. So you have options when you buy this game. The game also doesn't have high requirements so it can run on just about any computer that can run any kind of video game. The actual requirements are... -The system requirements for SWAT 4 are: AMD/Pentium 4 1.2 GHz 256 MB of RAM Windows 98/ME/2000/XP 2X DVD-ROM DirectX 9.0c 64 MB of VRAM 2 GB of Hard Drive Space

OK - says what it is.
Region-free is useful. Would like to see a larger range of scenarios. A fun way for an older player to resist the onset of Alzheimer's. It improves hand/eye co-ordination and sharpens the reflexes. In this age of increasing crime, it also satisfiies an atavistic need to take out 'bad guys' - in private and without having to clean up.

A Great Tactical Police Shooter for the PC
In Swat 4, you take control of a tactical squad of up to 4 other people. You command your crew to blast open doors, cuff suspects, and a wide range of other options. This game requires a really good PC or at least one that double the recommended requirements but still looks and runs great on lower setting. Overall this is a great game for anyone who enjoys action packed PC games that put realism into every aspect of the game by Sierra.

Swat 4
I wanted to but this because i had purchased Swat 2 and 3 and loved both of them. This, Swat 4 was definetly below average. It crashes when i close the game and i am forced to restart the computer every time. Also when launching it there is a 50/50 chance is will not work, again forcing you to restart (No these are because of my computers hardware. My hardware meets all the recommened requirements.) Instead of buting this game get something like FEAR or swat 3. I hope they dont waste time making a swat 5 because i wont waste time getting it.
