The seller was very upfront about the condition of the watch and very fair with his pricing. Communication was clear, shipping was fast, and the watch itself keeps very good time after adjusting to my habits and movements. I am a small boned person, so the size of the watch is more than adequate, but larger framed people may not be pleased. The face is attractive and easy to read, and I am really enjoying the leather strap that this seller included. I haven't even bothered to mount the standard Seiko strap. I have often seen reference to this as a perfect "entry level" automatic. Well, I purchased my first Seiko 5 Sport back in 1971 and I still love the Seiko 5 line regardless of the price point. Solid design, proven engine, legendary timepiece. Don't hesitate, buy one!

Some what disappointed.
The watch arrived quickly and it was as represented in the ad. I have smaller wrist so the medium size was appealing. The fit and finish are what you would expect form SEIKO. The reason for the low score is it loses one to two minutes a day. I was wearing an inexpensive "26.95" watch with a Japanese movement that did not lose a minute all year. I suspected that it was because i was taking it off at night so I invested in an $80.00 watch winder to place in while I was not wearing it. This made no difference. I have never had a self winding watch before so in fairness this may be normal. But for me i expected more from SEIKO.

Excellent quality piece, not so good strap. Really well finished steel case and bezel. The scratchy canvas strap is a negative contribution, replaced mine with nato style Barton strap. This watch is totally good deal for the price. I recommend.

An everyday, budget-friendly, reliable, and trustworthy watch
The SNK809 has gotten a lot of popularity and respect over the last couple of years. And rightfully so. It's 37mm size is excellent. It's not small by anymeans. I'm a 6.5" wrist, so it's perfect for me. Ant more than maybe 7.25, 7.5" wrists and I'd suggest trying before buying. It's equipped with a reliable automatic movement, which means no battery is used. The movement requires a rotary component, which is visible on this watch (very cool feature), spin based on kinetic and potential energy from your everyday movement. The watch wears great for many sizes, however I may suggest swapping off the strap (just pull the strap off each lug end with an appropriate tool), as many would just find it adequate at most. It looks nice for the watch, I just know not many people find there are better options in the aftermarket. Speaking of the aftermarket, there are also a lot of customization options for this watch. As mentioned, straps are one. There's also dial-crystals, which after a while it may be required, since this is a Hardlex crystal, meaning it's a mineral crystal with a sapphire crystal coating if I'm correct. All in all, this is my first Automatic watch. I knew Seiko would be a great first automatic watch, specifically the Seiko 5 line. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a sub-$100 watch, not just automatic watch. This would be great for adults whom would like to get there kids into watches.

Only Watch I Wear
The Seiko 5 is a good value if you buy it at the going rate, which is less than half of the list price. I own 3 of these and when one breaks I send it in for repair. In my experience the Seiko is tough, reliable, attractive, easy to read, and simple. Owning a sturdy watch that doesn't need batteries, doesn't run down and gives me the time and date at a glance gives me a sense of confidence that I cant justify...but I like it! The black Seiko 5 is my signature watch.
