I purchased these bits for hobby projects. Only used on soft metals like brass and aluminum, and plastic. Of course you need to be patient because they can break. The small bit is only 5 times the thickness of hair. I used in a small drill press where there was no awkward movement of my material. I also was patient and took time to drill. All worked well for me.

These drill bits are made of inferior metal and are poorly made. The outer surface of drill bits should be smooth with an almost polished appearance. The surface of these drill bits have a grainy look and the cutting blades are non-existent. The drill index is very convenient with easy access to the drill bits. The usable index, low purchase price and free shipping were the only reasons I didn't return this item.

These are nice quality and a great value for the money. I bought two sets and used only ONE drill to drill over 600 holes in my Boxwood model ship main deck.

I would recommend that the bits be used only in a stable appliance such as a drill press as they are not meant to withstand side thrust to any great degree. If you use the driver that is supplied be very conscience of directing force only directly toward the point of the bit and perpendicular to the work.

The anticipated need for the bits did not materialize and I haven't used them yet. I did experiment with putting a bit in the pin vise and found I didn't/couldn't get it tight enough to hold the bit securely. Most likely with more effort it would work fine.
