Not quite as sturdy and nice as the original S&W magazine but it will work. Reasonable price. I'll order additional as necessary. Used in USPSA matches with my classic S&W Model 39-2.

Besides the darker finish, It looks and feels very similar to the original m39 magazine that came with my pistol. The interior piece appears to be made of plastic vs steel in the original one however. Upon receiving it, I found that it would get stuck in the pistol and not want to eject unless I pulled it out with some force. The problem does seem to have gotten better after I cycled the gun with it in and ejected/inserted it a few times. Every so often it still tends to get stuck, but mostly it ejects out of the magazine well very nicely with a little more power than the worn out original. At the range I have so far had zero problems with it, and for that purpose I think its a great buy for the price. I would seek out a better quality original or aftermarket one if I was to use it for carry purposes, but if it works fine, then all the better. Might chance getting another one.Read full review

Mine is a Model 39-2 and here is my experience with this mag. When you insert the mag, it gets hung up about half way. I have to press the mag release button for it to go in only so far, then I have to push in the mag really hard for it to go in all the way to hear the click indicating that the mag latches in. Then I have to pull out the mag a little to hear another tiny click, otherwise I won’t be able to press the mag release button with my thumb to release the mag altogether. When the mag is empty after spending all the rounds, I cannot release the slide without removing the mag (The original mag does not do this). I see this mag for Range use only and will not recommend for home defense or critical emergency situation.

This clip was new, in the original package. I have been told that only an original, Smith and Wesson made clip will work in the gun, however this clip goes in and ejects without any problems. I have not taken the gun to the range for testing, but all seems okay so far. i felt so confident I bought a second clip also.

The magazine works just fine and is a good bang for the buck. I think if anyone is looking for a good magazine for their Smith and Wesson 39-2 and looking for an extra magazine worth the money, I would recommend this magazine. It is a quality magazine and I've had no issues with it.
