I have a Spanish Mauser 98 in 7mm. I realize that this stock is probably made the German 98 and works well, not so much for mine. I have a Ram Line sport stock that the action had been in. It was a standard 98 action stock and a perfect fit, drop in with no modifications. The only reason I'm replacing is that the stock was designed more for use with a scope. I'm using it with open sights and just can't get a good sight picture. The instructions did say I may have to do some modifications and fitting due to differences in production types. I have been fitting and removing material for more than an hour and still not getting a fit. My gun is definitely not a drop in. I finally got the rifle into the stock, but bad fit and it won't feed. The bolt starts to move the round forward but the it rides over the round and the round stays in the Mag. It looks like I will be spending more time trying to get a better fit. Im just concerned at this point I'm on the way to ruining the stock and wasting a chunk of cash☹️ UPDATE: I finally got it to fit. 👍 looks good, feels good. Still need to get it to the range. Have a Dremel tool ready, you might need it. Changing rating to a 3 since I did get it fit.Read full review

I appreciate it finally worked out in the end. Thank you, David Roberts. You all are very easy to Deal with. I’m glad I can find a resolution to fitting the stock other than returning it. Which, you had no problems with excepting the return.

Kind of funky looking and heavy but its adjustable, and this is probably the easiest and cheapest way to put a stock on a Mauser that accepts 10 and 15 round mags.
