I bought a 1440p 144hz freesync monitor to use with my R9 390. The 390 had solid performance, but not totally up to what I wanted. I've been waiting for the mining boom to slow down to the point where the price of the Vega 64 is no longer unreasonable. I bought this for $539.99. Performance is great, and the Witcher 3 runs at around 75 fps with ultra everything, and freesync makes it super smooth. Shipping was two days faster than anticipated, which was great. I'd totally recommend this card if you need high-performance freesync and can get it for a solid price.

Got the vega 64 on sale for 465 (this review is based off that purchase price) it runs fast, everything at 1080p goes to ultra with no problems (new monitor incoming for 1440p and maybe getting a 4k tv... but not decided on that one yet) its normally really quiet, only gets a slight hum when not doing anything intensive.. mechanical hard drive is louder (louder than previous card but quieter than my old top end card at purchase the x1900xtx) the noise is noticeable but not distracting if you have a headset or use a surround sound system its a beast at that price and is totally worth it.. kinda kicking myself for not picking up a second one as I do have other use cases to take advantage of its calculations In short... its a workstation card that can game extremely well and is a beast with dx12 and vulcan games from my testsRead full review

Great performance value now compared to 8 months ago

This is a wonderful card and because of the price Nvidia charges for g-sync monitors it makes this card a great value to. The only thing that I really mind is how loud it is under load.

This card replaces my aging Powercolor R9 290X LCS card w/factory installed EK water block. I didn't install it right away as I wanted to wait for my EK water block to get here. It rocks and blows the 290x away.
