I purchased this for my 10 year old pool shark. It was a surprise, so after he opened the mail package, he informed me that pool can be played on the "Wii Sports" game. However, he was excited to see that I also purchased Wii pool cues for POOL PARTY. (They have to be purchased separately) It seems that the cues potentially have design flaws, (With the Wii remotes in the cues, they must be used upside down, otherwise the remote eye doesn't match up with the receiver like it should, causing sloppy shots.) My son played this game twice and has not touched it since. In fact, no one in the family wants to struggle with the cue issue. The cues are in the way, and have to be broke down into 3 separate pieces to be put away. They are also very cheap and break easily. The cues for POOL PARTY were what interested me in the first place. Avoid dealing with them, they aren't worth the money, the time, or the space they take up. :/Read full review
If anyone has played a lot of pool before, you can tell this has a genuine feel to it. Although it doesn’t show on the back, the nunchuk is used in adjusting desired camera angles, etc, and makes gameplay a lot more enjoyable. The only problems I can see anyone having are the fact that you have to use the controller like a pool cue and, as far as I can see, can’t switch it; and the controls, while it gives you a lot of control, take a while to get used to. I would recommend at the beginning keeping the book handy or googling the controls.

I play a lot of real pool and have tried just about all the video pool games. Most of them are terrible, designed by those who have little knowledge of real pool. This is another one of the bad ones. I did not use it too much as it was extremely annoying to me. When your computer opponent shoots it is very slow and beleive it or not a bell goes off every time your opponent shoots????? I don't think I lasted 10 minutes playing this dog. What are these morons thinking when they make these games, do some research and find out about what real pool is like before you spend lots of time and money to make something that is terrible. The best pool game I have found is VIRTUAL POOL 3 which is for your computer. Most realistic ball action and games. I cannot come near to playing the video game as well as I play the real game but VP3 is still the best out there.Read full review
Pool Party is an interesting game! You really don't need the cue stick accessories, but it's harder without them! If you like playing pool or billiards, it will be an experience. I grew up playing 8 ball and when I played this game, unfortunately I lost everytime. Now, 15 ball is better because you gain points if you knock your opponents ball in the pocket, but you lose the points if you knock in your ball and the cue ball in the pocket! This game you have to concentrate on what you are doing..don't slip up or you gain a foul and it will tell you you did just that! I guess I bought the game because I liked playing pool when I was growing up and always went with my late dad and my husband. Also I was surfing Ebay for Wii games and even though I am borrowing a Wii system currently, I wanted a variety of games to play when I DO get a Wii system. Thanks again Ebay and the various sellers that had the video games for the Wii!Read full review
