It's good for every day shaving, but does fall short when stubble goes a couple days too long. It struggles with dealing with short hairs, typically needing to be finished up with a cheap razor. It will eventually do the job, but it's just faster to use a disposable. For every day shaving though, (5 O'clock growth etc.) it's quiet, doesn't bog down, and does a pretty close shave. It seems to hold a charge for a long time, mine has never lost power.I just more or less remember to plug it in every few days or as long as a week, and it's fine. No battery worries. It's also easy to clean. It looses one star because it just can't "mow the lawn" when I get lazy for a few days.

These blades tear and are hard to shave with. The original blades, called lift and separate, were very conferable to shave with. These are not the same.

I have the older model and love that. This newer model is not supposed to be used when it is charging. My old shaver could be used while charging. The old model also had a set of 5 or 6 lights that let me know how much charge I had left; the new model has no lights and I think that is poor. It is still a good razor, but they should not have dropped those two features - seems like they went backwards.

I owned an older style Norelco shaver that lasted over 30 years and was still running strong when I replaced it with another (5000 series). The blades were dull and no one sharpens them as they did in the past. The 4500 model was purchased for my son as a gift. I did manage to use it a few times and was very pleased with the results. It appears to be crafted sturdier than my 5000 series and I like the pop up trimmer feature better than mine that requires full replacement of the shaver head which is difficult to do. I can't predict how long the shaver will last or when the heads will need replacement. Although the 5000 series shaver is lighter and glides better over the contours of your face, the 4500 shaver actually gave me a closer shave.

works well. do not know what rpm the blades are to turn. Since it refurbished hard to compare to brand new. Brand new would not be worth $80.00. Time will tell about quality, since it is made in China. Their reputation was built on being American made.
