Cheap but effective

I've built 200+ motorized bikes. There are other newer kits available that I've ordered with better 8mm mounting hardware and other slightly updated parts but these kits are cheaper and have the same amount of power. They pull my 250lb butt around no problem. I use good oil and have ran these motors very hard in the summer time with surprising reliability. The black exhaust was a nice touch too. The engine is excellent and is absolutely the best part of the kit, everything around it is cheap but effective. You will be tightening your chain just like any new motorcycle chain, adjusting clutch and throttle cable tension, and occasionally greasing the clutch actuator cam and bucking bar. If you are completely mechanically illiterate then go buy a new Honda scooter. Overall they're lots of fun, powerful for their size and price, and the engine itself when properly maintained and given a correct oil/fuel mIx and broken in correctly is great. They have Japanese needle bearings on the crankshaft and piston wrist pin and ball bearings in the case and clutch drive shaft. They really are a great value if you can keep them on the road. Below I'll list things that I've had to fix when myself or customers have had issues. Because the kits are so cheap I just recommend you buy two kits to have plenty of parts and even then they're still a great value. These aren't every time things but these are the most common issues. Magneto magnet was not magnetized creating a no spark condition, magneto itself was shorted from riding in the rain and being left outside, chain must be just right both in tension and alignment, if not it'll jam up in the front sprocket cover, destroy your rear spokes, or even snap itself or tensioner wheel, throttle housing can break or allow throttle grip to turn too far forward letting the cable come too far out of the adjuster, check the intake to be sure it's not blocked off from factory, I seen that happen twice, occasionally the clutch disc and pressure plate adjustment won't be right out of the box, easy to adjust but a minor annoyance. Beware, they don't always ship from the East Coast even when they are listed as so. The listing clearly stated Dayton New Jersey but was shipped out of California. Typical Chinese business practices, bending the truth and then giving an excuse email with poor grammar. At least the engine kit was good, but they know people select "nearest first" when filtering results.
