The sequel to the critically acclaimed Star Wars: Jedi Knight finds its way to Xbox courtesy of Vicarious Visions. In this console port of the 2002 computer game, players are cast in the role of Kyle Katarn, a reluctant Jedi who must use the Force to save the Jedi Academy from a sinister power. While the game is primarily a first-person shooter, players will gradually learn eight Force powers and acquire the lightsaber, which automatically changes the game to a third-person view whenever it is activated.
Nine locales, ranging from Bespin to Yavin, are the setting for the game's 25 missions, including an Xbox bonus level entitled "Mission at Alzoc III." Players will advance through sewers, swamps, prisons, fortresses, and more while solving puzzles and engaging Stormtroopers, Imperial Officers, AT-STs, and alien races in deadly combat. Among the 15 available weapons are rifles, blasters, thermal detonators, trip mines, missile launchers, and more. Force powers, which are learned during the game, let players jump, push, pull, increase speed, heal, emit lightning, choke, and confuse characters using the Jedi mind trick.
While the game does not feature an online component as its computer predecessor, Jedi Outcast supports two-player action against up to 14 computer-controlled bots. Each bot is a featured character in the main game, from Luke Skywalker and Lando Calrissian to Bespin Officers and Shadow troopers, and each possesses different reaction times, accuracy, and agility levels, as well as special abilities. Multiplayer modes include Duel, Free-For-All, Capture the Flag, Team Free for All, and Jedi Master. Players can customize parameters such as time, kill, or capture limits; assign which Force powers can be used, if any; and decide whether or not lightsabers should be available.

Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast
This game is a must have for all Star Wars enthusiasts. It begins where Star Wars Dark Forces left off. You begin Jedi Outcast as a first person shooter with at least 15 different weapons to choose from but soon after the first 3 levels are completed, your character gets a light saber. Then the game gets even better. You play as Kyle Katarn who has served as a special agent for the Imperial army, he has served the Rebel alliance and also the Jedi knights. Very fluid graphics, rich environments and excellent game play alongside a unique and intriguing story line are just some factors which make this game a must have. Nine years after avenging his father's death, Kyle Katarn is a lone-wolf mercenary looking to redeem himself. Kyle realized he could no longer trust himself to wield the force, so confused and disappointed he turns in his light saber and relinquishes his role as Jedi knight and vows never to use the force again. Now Kyle spends time working on reconnaissance missions for the New Republic. Although his connection to the force has weakened, his quick thinking and lightning reflexes are major assets to the New Republic. You'll run into legendary Star Wars characters along your journey like Luke Skywalker and Lando Calrissian. This game has a two player split screen option which will have you playing this game for months after you've completed it. The further you progress in the one player game decides what weapons and characters you can select in two player game mode.
Best Star Wars Game EVER !!
The only game where you must EARN your lightsaber !! The music, the environments, and the dialogue is TOTAL Star Wars... You will feel like you are on the Death Star at times. This game never gets boring. I was only 2 years old when Star Wars came out, I grew up with Star Wars so I know my stuff and this game delivers every aspect of being a Jedi...By the end of the game you can do AMAZING things by utilizing the force...Quit reading this review...you're wasting time !!! Get started on this game and "May the force be with you" !!!!!!
Possibly the best Star Wars game ever
Kyle Katarn is one of the expanded universe characters that they could do a whole movie about. I guess this game is as close as we are ever going to get, unfortunately. Fortunately however, this game is amazing, and it gets really good when you finally have to win back your Jedi powers and use a lightsaber. A note of warning though: This game is not your typical first person shooter. The puzzles can be tedious and annoying at times. Also, when you actually use a lightsaber you switch to a third person perspective, so technically it's not strictly a first person shooter. One of the funnest aspects of this game is that you can also use Jedi Powers. When you finally earn them, you can use Neutral(Push, Pull, Speed, Mind trick), good(healing) or evil powers(Lightning, grip). And you can come up with some very creative ways to dispatch your enemies with these powers, i.e. Pushing them off a cliff or gripping them by the throat then dropping them off the side. The graphics are great, the sound is amazing, and the cut scenes are genuine and emotionally gripping. Like I said though, this game still presents a challenge. There are cheats available, so if you find yourself becoming impatient and annoyed, search online and you'll find them.
Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast
great game for fans or non fans alike its a great game that i enjoyed for many hours about a jedi named kyle katarn who has fallen away from the force and now hates it but must renew his faith in the force when his friend is kidnapped by an evil jedi and must rescue her, on the way to rescue her you will meet familiar faces like luke skywalker and will use a wide variety of weapons all of which are very cool and of course there will be some killer lightsaber action and in the end you ultimately save the world.
