Someone turned a microphone on in front of Dick Vitale, and said tell us about NCAA basketball. Hence, the book comes off as this rambling, roaming tale with no direction or significant message. If you've watched one basketball game with Vitale, then you do not need to read this book. The book reads the same way he commentates a game. He throws in a couple of his catch phrases here and there, recounts a couple of his personal basketball highlights, but we've heard it all before. I was expecting to hear some brilliant insight into the behind the scenes world of the NCAA, but I got none. Furthermore, I was expecting him to make comments on the forces that have shaped NCAA basketball, good or bad. Instead, he tip-toed around the subjects to avoid insulting any key players, so that he could keep his endorsement options open. He comes off as a total sell out, and considering some of his recent commercials, he may very well be one. Not worth the price.Read full review
Excellent book for the basketball fan. Loved having the autograph, too. Very good read. Recommend to all your basketball buddies!
