Should be called "The Essential Little River Band"
I have owned several of the Little River Band's albums, growing up with them in the late 70's. This has always been one of my favorite bands, and I personally think some of the best songwriting was done in that era. The only drawback to this CD, if you can really call it that, is it has the version of "Long Way Home" that played on the radio. The longer version is fine, but I can live without it. It's not worth buying another album just for that. So if you have only heard even one or two songs from this group, and loved those, I think you should consider buying this album.
Little River band CD
Let me tell you what I dislike about this purchase! It is so darn good, I have almost worn it out playing it. In other words: I LOVE IT! I decided to buy it because i have been a fan of Little River Band since the mid 70's and decided I needed a disc with all their hits INCLUDING more recent material since Johnny Farnham became lead vocalist (early 80s). And this disc had the later material. Great disc.
Perfect for the casual LRB Listener
This CD is the perfect "best of" compilation for the casual Little River Band listener. All of their popular songs are here and even some songs that I recognize but did not know that the LRB sang. A great nostalgic CD for anyone who grew up during the 70's and early 80's. Be careful, however, I understand that there are two versions of this CD--an earlier version has redone versions of the originals which many don't like. Luckily, my CD was a later version with all of the original versions.
Reminiscing, Little River Band
I recently purchased The Little River Band's Greatest Hits, the CD has all the timeless classics that are a part of a rich musical heritage of the group. From songs like "It's a long way" to "Take it Easy on me". I still consider this CD to be among a treasure of wonderful hits from a time long past, yet still fresh in my mind. I strongly recommend this CD for anyone who remembers The Little River Band.
