Must-have companion to your ThinkPad!
I've wanted a dock for a long time, but what made me get this was my recent purchase of a new UHD 4K monitor. As stated in my trusty T470p's PSREF, only 30fps output at 4K is supported on the HDMI port because the T470p uses the older HDMI 1.4 standard and doesn't support HDMI 2.0. I'd have to use the DisplayPort, which would require a new mini-DP to DP cable. Instead, I purchased this dock which provides numerous USB ports as well as multiple full-size DisplayPort outputs enabling the full use of my new monitor. VGA and DVI is also provided for those with older monitors or projectors. Now that Lenovo has switched to USB-C docking on new models, these older mechanical docks can be had for a great price. However, the inclusion of an additional charger alone is well worth the price. No longer will you have to reach under your desk every day to plug your laptop into a crowded power strip--and no longer will your charger cable fall to the floor moments after you unplug your laptop. With the Ultra Dock, I just drop my laptop onto the dock station, press the dock's power button without even opening the lid, and I've got a powerful Windows desktop and laptop for the price of one. For those in public work environments, the Ultra Dock allows you to secure the dock itself with a standard Kensington lock and "pass on" the security to your laptop via the provided keys. Simply turn the key and the eject button is disabled, which should be enough to deter opportunistic thieves. A note for fellow T470p/T460p owners: this product WILL work with the integrated graphics models, but it will not work with the discrete models. They need a 135W or greater Ultra Dock. I have the integrated (Intel HD 630) graphics option, so this product works fine for me. The item was in great condition and I would definitely buy again.

Great Deal - Quality Product
Quality product. All the ports I need. Great for heat dissipation. I can use the dockfor typing on my lap, even sitting on a blanket in bed, and the laptop never overheats. Getting a second power jack is also useful. Mostly, it's used for cable management. 3 USB 3.0 2 USB 2.0 1 Always on USB power port 2 Display Port 1 HDMI

If you have a ThinkPad X200 series, just buy this dock. Seriously.
The X200 series is designed for people who Get Things Done. In my case, my X270 travels with me AND is an extra workstation in the lab at home. With my previous laptop, coming home meant plugging in power, three USB's, HDMI, and Ethernet just to integrate it back into the lab environment. Now I just drop the X270 on the dock and everything connects instantly. When I need to leave, I just pick up the laptop and walk away. This is the second laptop I've had that had an optional dock. I'd forgotten how useful they are. I expect the new X270 to last a long time but when the time comes to replace it, the availability of a dock is going to be near the top of my requirements. To be fair: The dock isn't perfect. For example, there appears to be an LED in the dock's power button but it never comes on even when I use that button to power up the docked laptop. Since it's possible to run the laptop in the dock with the laptop still "closed", it would be nice if this LED came on. Another minor gripe is that there's no ongoing indication that the laptop has been electrically connected successfully. The little LED in the X270's lid flashes three times when it's first connected to power, but if you don't catch that there is no indication. The dock's power button LED (mentioned above) could also indicate this without a lot of effort. Finally, if the X270's screen is open while on the dock, the balance shifts rearward and the front of the keyboard can lift off the table. This means the whole laptop can "rock" a bit when you're typing on it. This is easily handled by putting something thin under the keyboard but it also could have been handled by a slight redesign of the bottom of the dock. Note that none of the above issues is a *serious* problem. I'm writing an honest review, so I'm including the bad with the good. Fortunately in this case the "bad" ain't so bad. The bottom line is the same as the top line: If you have a ThinkPad X200 series, just buy this dock. It seems like a small thing but it's actually a really big advantage!

So far so good
This product is and works exactly as advertised with my T550. Although I have not tried all features and connections yet, but the look is great and the laptop sits flush and sturdy. So far nothing bad to say. I would recommend it.
