Headphones are fragile in general and they get damaged, especially with vigorous physical activity. Despite damaging these and having the option to buy something else, I keep getting these ones, for two major reasons. First, they have the double flange ear piece. These cut ambient noise, particularly wind at high speeds on a bicycle. Second, the controls are large enough to manipulate with winter gloves on when I'm riding. The criticism I have is that the rubber ear piece has come off in my ear far too frequently. This can be mitigated with regular cleaning with isopropyl alcohol to remove ceruminous deposits. I will continue to use these.

I came back to edit my review. I've had 3 of these exact sets of headphones fail, and one similar klipsch model fail in one year. 4 sets of these headphones trashed in one year. In my previous review I admitted maybe some abuse while at the gym and I dropped my phone, or the jack was stressed by the phone being in my pocket. But this recent set failed in about one week of use between sitting at work and having them plugged into my computer, and about 4x going to the gym. I'll never buy another pair of klispch headphones. The sound quality and fair price mean nothing when I could have gotten a pair of $120 earbuds which might still be lasting me today. You might ask why I kept buying them. One set I got fro craigslist and liked them, when they failed I gave them another shot, the second set from ebay lasted a good amount of time and when it failed I figured it was the added abuse from days at the gym. Then I got myself a new set and my wife a set. In the last month the set I got myself failed so I took my wife's and they just failed too. I'll be contacting Klipsch customer service, but I'm not very optimistic. Every single set of apple earbuds I've ever had has lasted longer than these.Read full review

Klipsch S4 (II) headphones are great sounding and have ample bass for my taste. What I really enjoy is the earpiece. The earpiece sensation is truly great. I can leave these in my ears for hours, not like other ear-phones that I have used in the past. Naturally sound is subjective to every user, but the earphones I have used in the past did not have the deeper bass that these provide. Nice fit in ear... I did see that the connector to your device needs to be taken care of, as the cord probably needs more protection in that area of care, so I do plan to reinforce that flexible area. There is a sound of the cord, especially if you are walking fast and if the cords are moving with a lot of motion, but I normally use mine while relaxing or computer work. Docked a star for this. Otherwise for iPhone 5 these work great with its features. Gotta luv the sound these have. !!Read full review
I bought these because I lost my last pair. I haven't owned many earphones so can't compare objectively, but here's what I like/don't like: PROS: Aside from CHEAP? Incredible external noise blocking with even marginal music volume. At half volume from my iPod, I stop hearing cars/buses passing at 50kph within 3-4 meters of me (perfect for city/university walking), let alone people and general ambience. I mainly listen to rock (Beatles, Queen, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin) and electro (Daft Punk, LMFAO) at ~75% iPod Touch volume with reduced treble (personal preference), and these are great. The bass is neither delayed nor overpowering, but just right (then again, I like a lot of bass). I don't like rap, but the few songs I've heard sound real sharp through these. I cannot say sound quality itself is the best possible, as I've heard several stereos/loudspeakers with slightly better definition; but, I preferred them over a friend's Bose earphone pair. CONS: no mic; cable could/should be more reinforced (like Zagg's invisible shield-coated cables), because right after the 3.5mm plug it seems a bit flimsy. Doesn't matter for me as I take good care of them, but can see how some people might break the cable with heavy/careless use. The complete blocking can go both ways - I would not suggest even fully wearing these if you're biking, walking in dangerous areas, or chatting amongst friends as everything becomes very muffled even with the volume fully off.Read full review
These ear buds give great sound when compared to ear buds provided with whatever device you bought. Excellent range and good bass. I was very pleased with the flat cord rather than a standard cord. The flat feature prevents tangles and makes using the ear buds as hassle free as possible. I also like the way this product stays firmly and comfortably in my ears unlike other ear buds that fall out when moving around. I recommend this product to anyone who wants to step up the audio quality of your device.
