Pretty tough little bugger. Made some wide boar deer jerkey. Man my friends had no problem bending their elbows and opening their mouths.

I bought this to make home made brats, dogs, however, when forcing the meat down into the screw to fill the casings, you have to deal with a lot of air. When plunging the meat into the standing tube you have air that is trapped inside between the end of the casing tube and the standing tube. Not sure how to get around this air problem. I still think it beats doing it by hand.

Although this KitchenAid product does seem to be quality, the engineering just wasn't there. Nearly impossible to use as the tubes are tapered and do not accommodate the casings well, not to mention that it's so high up in the air you're holding the casings trying to feed the shoot and push the meat all at the same time. I gave up after about a half hour. It's tucked nicely away in the drawer not a bad product, but definitely designed by someone who's never stuffed sausage in their life

It's my first sausage stuffer so I have nothing to compare it to. It's hard to clean - but that's probably expected. My whole ground beef or pork with it is - The pusher isn't a solid piece it's designed so that there's the flat portion at the bottom and a "plus" sign as the main body/column. So when you stuff meat in there with the "pusher" or whatever it's called - the meat will sometimes squeeze out of the tiny gaps then end up where the empty space is at. It works okay - it probably could be designed better.
