Beginning photographer here, needed a tripod for my Sony a6000. So far this has been great. It's very stable and feels adequate for the size of my camera with a mid-size lens (e.g. Sigma 30mm F1.4). I heard bad things about knock-off brands so decided to go with this one which has great reviews everywhere (e.g. Amazon). The leveling-bubble is also great, love that little feature. Joby as released a new line but I see nothing wrong with the old model, so maybe save yourself a few bucks?

I've used it with Canon EOS 700D, with standard EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM lens. Camera is attached quite firmly. You can fix it on a tree branches, fence, suitable size rocks etc. You will need the remote control, otherwise it will become a pain, or you can use a delayed shot. Be sure to check that tripod is attached firmly, I was lucky to catch my camera on fly... Quite lightweight and compact. Its not a long time I'm using it, but the construction seems to be durable. The only negative is a bit high price for such item.

Versatile gadget! long enough to be a selfie stick, stable enough to hang from a tree or place on flat surface. Even the legs serve as a third point of balance against my chest when taking a photo!
