OK bluetooth headset, but has limitations...
I'd give it a lower rating due to the lack of phone and media player controls, except that other competing headsets in this category share similar limits. By "other", I mean the Logitech H800 which is similar mid-level build-quality. Surprisingly the lower build-quality and uncomfortable Blue Tiger headsets I used a few years ago had full controls. From the Evolve 65's 1 Multi-Function button, one can only answer/end a call, and mute. Clearly this headset is marketed toward telephone call-center folks that occasionally want to listen to music/books at their desk, rather than the general public or folks on-the-go. Oh I should mention it does have volume up/down buttons, woo woo. I have average hearing, so will offer that the volume is adequate to hear a phone call on the freeway with the windows up... but marginal if windows are down. The mic seems to work OK, as have not had complaints... but have not been on the receiving-end of a call from this headset. Similar comment regarding noise-cancellation, but wished all vendors included a foam wind screen for the mic (like Blue Tiger)... a 10 cent item they cheap-out on. Adding a foam wind-screen to the Jabra Evolve 65 prevents the mic from snapping to the headband as designed, but call-quality is worth that limitation. They claim it has hi-fi sound for music and it's OK, but forget pausing or anything from the headset... must have your mobile device screen available to control everything. Have found I can invoke Siri (iOS v10.3) by holding MF button, and she responds to "play" command, but that's it. Maybe it's worth mentioning the bluetooth pairing is the easiest I've seen so far, not even requiring a passcode to be entered. And lastly re. fit/comfort... The earpads are smaller and a harder foam than the Logitech H800 and don't crush your head with tension (like my old Blue Tiger)... this results in the headset falling-off your head easier when bending/working, but they seem more durable and don't really hurt. I bought a new open-box unit for $70, can't imagine paying full retail. As you can read, I'm still looking for the perfect bluetooth headset... Disclaimer: I have not tried the Blue Parrott S450 ST or newer Blue Tiger models, but am shopping.
