Carbon fiber bow vs wood?
I like the grip on the bow the leather grip is right size and the bow feels very sleek has a good bend and is straight. it looks very nice from the slide cover to the silver color wrapping next to the black fiber. if i had any complaint or notice i would say i think it feels a tad bit lighter then a wood bow that could be just me or in my mind i have not weighed them both. Well i just weighed both on a postal scale and carbon fiber is 2.1oz and wood bow is 2.3oz so wood is a tad heavier. i usually buy the cheap practice bows at 3-7 dollars this bow was around 20 bucks. while i like it i would not continue to buy 20 dollar bows just because it was made of carbon fiber this bow i now know i would buy because it is a little lighter and visually pleasing, i will most likely when it needs rehair get it done or do it myself as it would be worth it to keep this bow in service and frankly i do not need to buy another one of these since this one should last my lifetime.

Bows can make a difference in sound
I bought a bow. It arrived broken, and returning it was no problem. I bought another bow, and started trying to learn with it. The sound it produced wasn't great, but I lived with it and thought ,"Hey, it's a bow, what effect could it have..." Then I bought this bow, suddenly the sound I was making improved. I also fixed the original bow that I was told to keep when I got the refund. Once again, this fixed bow sounded better than the second bow I'd purchased. (I bought a piece of copper water pipe, split it lengthwise, and clamped it over the upper part of the bow that was broken and glued it in place.) I built a "Bach bow", and even IT sounds better than the others. My conclusion is that you should not ignore either your bow or your resin. BOTH can have an effect on the sound you're producing. (Just a little "head up" for beginners.)
