I collect and use medium format lens from the major manufacturers.I mount them on my Nikon and Canon DSLR cameras using the appropriate adapters. This 80mm F/2.8 lens is extremely sharp, even wide open. Compared to most 80mm lens in 35mm format, this lens exceeds their performance levels. As a photographer and optical engineer,I have lab tested 1000's of lens and used them in the field. In general, Hasselblad is one of the best at all focal lengths.
I have used Hasselblad cameras and lenses for over 30 years. I am now working with more DSLR's but still have an EL, 50, 80 and 120 that I use with a Phase One back. There are lenses that are sharper in the Hassy lineup and faster if you go to the F series but I never experienced the barrel distortion or focus vigneyt that I know do with DSLR lenses. The 80mm 2.8 is compact and inexpensive, a no braine'r for anyone using Hassy V series cameras.
most first time hasselblad users wind up with this lens - and it's to their good fortune. zeiss invented the planer formulation and not much out there has superseeded it. images etched onto your film base, pop out at you in 3 dimensions. my only caveat is the painted alpha/numerics on the lens. the old ct lenses had them engraved and stood up much better to daily use. other than that, this is the baby to go for. some folks never acquire a second lens - it's that good!
The Lens is in excellent conditions, everything works a it should, and there are not cosmetic issues or what so ever.
