This printer looks, works and sounds like its brand new. It is one of the best on-line black and white laser toner printers there is out there. Everything was a snap. It has been working flawlessly for well over a month. What more could I say, I am well pleased.

This is a great printer for the price, plenty fast enough for us, cheap to operate, good print quality for normal business papers, and it holds a full ream of paper in it's two trays. Our previous printer was an HP Officejet Pro K5400. It was ok, but we had too many problems with it. For our small home business, this 4050tn is much better. It is faster, more economical, and I expect it to last much longer. I did a lot of research in forums and reviews, before buying this printer. My findings were that this is one of the last laserjets that HP made to be very durable. The newer one's are apparently made cheaper (like most things these days). Ours is refurbished, and guaranteed, so I expect it to operate for the projected 200,000 pages before needing major service. I think we only print about 10,000 pages per year. Toner for this is very reasonable. I calculate the cost per page to be 0.8 cents, including toner and paper. I wanted a network printer, with a low cost to operate, for business purposes, that will just work, and keep on working without any fuss. I do believe I have found that, with this printer. When we need to get our work done, I don't want to have to mess with the printer, to try and figure out why it isn't working properly. I bet you know what I mean. You will still need another printer for your color prints and photos, but I don't see that as a negative thing. You can get each printer based on what it does best. I highly recommend this printer.Read full review
This printer is a high quality effective machine with efficient utilization of toner. It is industrial strength so it is excellent for anyone needing to do quick black and white printing jobs I'm probabaly a light user compared to what this machine is designed for. I think it may last near forever. I use it to print handouts assignments and tests. It can work with an optional duplexer too
I purchased this as an alternative to burning through inkjet cartridges at home. I use one of these at work, and it's a workhorse, and the toner cartridges last forever, so I knew if I could get a good deal on one, it would last a long time. I also use it when I work from home, and am overjoyed with its capabilities - prints special papers (labels, etc.) and envelopes without issues. It has accessories, such as a 500-sheet paper tray and a duplexer (which I'm currently seeking), to save even more by printing two-sided jobs. A wise investment.
Yes, a genuine workhorse. Certainly not the fastest laser printer around, but hard to beat for the money. I have about 20 of these printers on my network and they simply just keep working! Used units are frequently available with extra trays and RAM, unlike the somewhat faster 4100 series printers. If a low-cost, inexpensive-to-operate laser printer is on your "need" list, then this is an excellent choice.
