The 1985 Nintendo Entertainment System game "Gyromite" is a brain-teasing puzzle game that is entertaining and challenging. The plot of the NES game follows the adventures of Professor Hector as he develops R.O.B. With the help of his assistant, Professor Vector, he must dodge life-threatening attacks. You can choose to play as Professor Hector or as the robot creation, R.O.B. To move forward, you must solve puzzles while avoiding dangerous obstacles such as bundles of dynamite and hungry bird-like creatures called Smicks. "Gyromite" features single-player and two-player modes, each with their own unique qualities. Game A can be played in single-player or two-player mode, while Game B can only be played by a single player. Single-player mode has 25 levels, while two-player cooperative mode contains 40. You will collect points as you gather bundles of dynamite and turnips and effectively use them to defend your character from attacks from Smicks and exploding TNT. As gamers navigate through gates and other obstacles, this game gives players the opportunity to practice critical thinking and sharpen their problem-solving skills. This game was developed in Japan and released in 1985 but quickly became a hit around the technology world. Nintendo Entertainment System's release of "Gyromite" introduced the Robotic Operating Buddy, also known as R.O.B. This innovative and unique controller helped give the NES more of an educational advantage. Utilizing R.O.B., this NES classic was one of the two games to make up Nintendo's Robot Series. "Gyromite" is also commonly called "Gyro" or "Robot Gyro" in the gaming community. While the title was developed to be played with the R.O.B. as the way to control playing action, you can also play "Gyromite" by using two NES controllers. When used simultaneously, the two controllers perform the same functions as the R.O.B. In Game A, the first controller can be used to move your character and maneuver turnips while the second controller lowers and raises gates. In Game B, you only require the use of one control to maneuver your character through the action. If you choose to play with the R.O.B. instead, you only need to worry about maneuvering with this one control. After "Gyromite" was released in Japan for Famicom, the Japanese copies were localized. Due to this fact, many of the title's cartridges have the Japanese Famicom version's circuit board. Famicom is one of the many names for the version of Nintendo Entertainment Systems that were released in Japan. However, this doesn't affect the play for American and European NES consoles because the non-localized versions come with a cartridge adapter to make them compatible with all systems. All copies of "Gyromite" are able to be played throughout the world. "Gyromite" is remembered as an iconic NES title that changed the way people perceived computers and technology. The pixelated 8-bit graphics of this vintage title give it a classic look many gamers enjoy. | |

Gyromite NES Nintendo
Fun time with my son, Fun Game for us both. He's never played it before. It was as cool as I remember it being when I was his age.

Good game, small issue.
Game worked well but it caused some issues with my console. All I had to do was take apart the cartridge and clean the corrosion off the contacts, which just involved removing the 5 screws and rubbing off the corrosion with a pencil eraser. It took me about 5 minutes and the game now works like new.

A Classic NES Release... Some Gamers should look elsewhere for true Collectible Value
Based on today's standards of gaming, the graphics on this game would be considered terrible by some spoiled brat, lame gamer, millennial who grew up a with a large LCD screen in their bedroom and an iPhone. That type of person probably wouldn't appreciate any original title that pioneered a new genre that sought to create a new form of gameplay. They may want to just stick with the latest disposable games from their own generation. This is a game from the 80's that kids, who grew up on Atari, tore into when they got their new NES Deluxe Edition for Xmas with that weird R.O.B. thing and played the hell out of it regardless of loving or hating it... It may have been all they had but they appreciated it. This title is from that generation and finding them in this condition is becoming rare. This type of game is collectible... like old comic books of the next generation.

Gyromite w/famicom converter.
Gyromite is one of two games that were especially designed for use with Nintendo's Robotic Operating Buddy, more commonly known as the R.O.B. Gyromite is the more common of the two R.O.B. games. Stack up was the other game in the series. Although Gyromite was made for use with the R.O.B., it can also be used without it. Although not widely known, this is a very good NES game and should be a part of anybody's collection.
Doesn't describe the game well
Bought it only to test my R.O.B. Basic puzzle, not really appealing.
