Product Information
This spin-off from 2008's GET SMART, starring Steve Carrell, explores the comic adventures of the secret agent's two technological wizards, Bruce (Masi Oka, HEROES) and Lloyd (Nate Torrence, STUDIO 60 ON THE SUNSET STRIP). Expect plenty of pratfalls, explosions, and gadgets in this release that was produced to hit video stores just days after the parent film screened in theaters.
We recently purchased "Get Smart" and liked it so we decided to get a copy of this dvd as a companion. For just good humor it was a good decision. The characters who are center stage in this story are obviously not the headline actors but they do a good job all the way through.
Perhaps what was most interesting was the bonus feature which provided additional information on each of the "gizmos" used throughout both movies. Every one of them- no matter how unbelievable they seemed- were based on either real existing technology or a concept currently under development.
Overall, definitely good entertainment. If you liked "Get Smart", I'd certainly recommend adding this to your collection.
A nod to the nerds. great movie for anytime. saw it once before and still found it funny. good adjunct to get smart movie released simultaneously. hymie gets kudos as hommage to origional series dick gautier role. don't spend a million on it- but secondary ownership for me serves the bill.
We bought this movie because we loved the Steve Carell version of Get Smart. It is not the best movie I have ever seen. My kids (12, 11, 10, 7 and 2) thought it was funny. This ought to tell you the humor level. If you liked Get Smart and want this to go along with it, I'd just as soon pass.
Half of a story hung on the fun idea of playing with gadgets and half formed characters-- some good acting, a few great moments, but buried in a very short and underdeveloped idea.
It could have been a contender.
It could have been.

I am very glad I was able to purchase this for such a low price here on ebay. If it wasn't for wanting to have both movies in my collection, it is quite possible that I would not have purchased the movie. Hardly any laughable moments until the credits.
