Originally had the Garmin Nuvi 260 4.3 inch screen which is larger than this one. I do prefer the larger screen, despite the size, this is an excellent GPS. It is also rated very well to excellent on ConsumerReports.org-SEE BELOW: Garmin Nuvi 260 Price: $170 Summary: The Garmin Nuvi 260 has a 3.5-inch LCD screen. Notable features include photo viewer and trip computer. It has preloaded maps for U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico. UP: Clear speech, clear screen view. Day/Night auto brightness adjust with manual override options. Small screen, but this size is great. Bigger unit would be blocking some more view, and would look like more of an attachment. Refresh rate is very good, I can track easily. Shows the upcoming street, your speed (cruise mode), and the direction (separate digital compass indicator). Starts fast. Route re-calculating is very fast. Portable from one vehicle to another. DOWN: Battery was off in about 30 mins. I had to connect to my lighter outlet. On this setting it's not possible to turn it off, only back to the stand by/charging mode. After every ignition on/off it starts by itself. Then you have to put it back to the stand by/charging mode again, till you unplug, and shut it off. A better battery time is a must. Overall: For the $80 I paid (used from E-Bay) it makes me wonder how I did without it. I recommend it.Read full review
Likes: 1) Text to speech, says the street name does make a different. 2) Compact size, easy to carry, clean design. 3) Screen is clear and bright. 4) Preloaded US maps. 5) Auto zoom in and out while driving to destination. Dislikes: 1) Speaker should be on the front and volume is acceptable. 2) Battery life away from charger is short. I owned a Garmin C330 and decided to get a newer model. Unit is now heavily discounted vs the its current model so it is at a good price. Accurate and does the job. Don't expect too many bell and whistle just a basic unit that gets you to your destination.
