A Great Amp For Blues & Rock'n'Roll
I purchase this amp because it has the best clean tone around for its price. The 'presence' and 'treble' EQ's can really make each note sparkle with that bright punchiness that made Fender amps famous. And, unlike the Fender Twin or Deluxe, this amp offers some powerful low-end frequencies (after all, it is a bass amp ---in fact you can get some great bass tones with it (e.g., the bass in Scot Walker's "The Old Man's Back Again"). You can also dial in a custom EQ by blending the 'bright' and 'normal' inputs. Although you can't get much break-up or overdrive from this amp unless you really crank the volume, it will certainly make the most of your pedalboard. With a good fuzz pedal you can match just about any rock tone that inspires you. For instance, I quickly discovered a tone that sounded like the guitar on Crosby Stills & Nash's "Long Time Gone." This amp also has the power to brighten muddier pedals; it takes on wah, reverb, delay, and tremolo very well. I'd recommend this amp to any guitarist who wants to explore vintage tube-tones ranging from the likes of Chuck Berry and Keith Richards to Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys.
Classic looks without vintage price
The Fender Vintage Reissue '59 Bassman LTD is the newer of the tweed Bassman reissues (the previous one does not have the "LTD" designation, which I believe stands for "Lacquered Tweed", not "Limited"). This does not have point-to-point wiring like the original, but does have a solid pine cabinet, Jensen speakers, and a tube rectifier that the previous reissue does not have. This is very loud for an apartment, so don't plan on getting it past 2-3. In a small to medium live setting, this is more than adequate. There are no onboard effects, just wonderful clean tone. I got this off the 'bay for $700, a '63 RI reverb tank for less than $400, and am in Surf heaven now. This amp is very simple, which I view as a positive- less to go wrong, and you can just provide your preferred outboard effects. Oh, and did I mention how incredibly cool it looks? (I'm currently building a '59-like partscaster in lake placid blue to pay homage to this baby, she definitely deserves it!) Buy one used for around $750, and you've got yourself a great amp for the money.
Might not be the best all around amp but for what I want it to do I'm very pleased and to own the amp that Jim Marshall borrowed th circuit to produce my favorite early Marshall amps just makes it cooler I'm my opinion Not a metal amp but can do lots with pedals

Fender 59 Bassman Reissue
I like everything about this amp.1 volume for each channel. No reverb or Tremelo. Its light weight. The tone is right on.Its loud enough for a medium club. When tubes get hot it is really righteous. It looks good and is dependable!I bought it because I thought the price was fair and its what I had been looking for to do small to medium clubs..Great rock and roll amp.A good distortion pedal in front of this baby and it really sings..Enjoy
This is one badaxx amp
This baby has awesome tone. When I play my harmonicas through it sounds real sweet. This amp has went full circle beening built in the 90's means it was built in the USA, Brea California to be exact. I think passed by there on its way to my house.I thank the seller very much. The price I paid is to low to to print for Fender 59 bassman reissue.
