Without cutter
This shield doesn’t have a string cutter attachment, therefore this shield is not for weed eating. Should specify that fact on the box label while listing all the models this shield fits on. Echo if you’re listening, number one, make your standard grass guard wider to help deflect rocks/sticks from legs just like your competitor, because not everyone weed eats in long pants in hot weather! Two, just put a cutter attachment on this shield, you would make a killing just on the retrofit alone! Thanks for listening Steve from Indiana

Great OEM safety shield for brush blade use
Well fitting specific guard / shield for brush cutter -steel blade use. This shield is typically sold with the brush blade kit because that's what it is intended for . If you go back to using your nylon head you must go back to using the original poly shield the trimmer came with which has the nylon line trimmer/cutter mounted to it. If you read the included instructions in the box you are told the above - WITH warnings included - all 'ya gotta do is read.
