I own the previous model, Dyson heater-fan AM05 and I find this current model AM09 downgraded in respect to fan power and construction materials. Otherwise, this is a well made, sleek and quiet product which adequately provides fan cooling and sufficient heat. The additional upgraded features of the remote are both convenient and functional. This fan is a good value if purchased **below the suggested retail price.

Disappointed
I don't think my product is in good shape/condition. I know it's a refurbished but this one has so many scratches and the fan is very weak even though I put it at level 10. First time buying Dyson refurbished and probably last one too! Initially thought that Dyson should be very good even for refurbished products but I was wrong, very disappointed! Please buy a new one and never go with its refurbished!

Refurbished unit works great-a bit of scuffing on the body, but nothing major
This is the third Dyson product I have purchased as refurbished. The unit works well as with previous refurbed units I have bought in the past. The only issue was a minor scuffing of the blue body but not a big deal as it is not a brand new unit. The heating and other mechanical and electronic components all work as expected.

Remote control design has to be changed
GOOD The air volume for me is perfect. BAD 1. The remote control buttons are not visible(colors of the buttons are toot weak) 2. if I misplace my remote control, I can only turn the heater on and off. I cannot do what the remote control can do. There's no manual buttons on the heater. What will I do if I lost or misplaced my remote control?

Should the device be making ominous motor noise at the '10' setting?
Device works fine, although the air output is not what I had been led to believe it was. I'd call it moderate but not strong -- it will not beat out any 14" and above fan air speed. I am still pleased with it: the tilting function, the having 2 device functions in 1 function, the quick way it shifts gears, the magnetic holder on top for the remote and the narrow/wide function. I am somewhat alarmed by the ominous hum the motor generates when you turn it up to full speed. '9' the sound is not present; '10' you can most definitely hear a loud hum. I'm pretty sure that shouldn't be there. Care to comment, refurbishers?? If you've got the space for separate space heater and a fan, I'd mildly-moderately say to go that route. It does save some space, looks chic/modern, and does an "ok" job with output. Everything else about it is excellent.
