best buy of this year--what a great item at a reasonable price--just love it

Received unit in carton via truck-took 15 minutes to add the wheels and handles-added oil and started on propane--have two other generators that run on gasoline--this unit will replace both. Runs very quiet and I am sure that when I will need to use it, no worry here.. The unit is very well constructed and have all the features anyone would need in a power source.. very happy in buying this unit---THANK YOU FOR THE OPPORTUNITY ON PURCHASING THIS GENERATOR

Great Generator, not compatible with some UPS devices

Great generator for 2 years now, great price on a black Friday deal in 2016. Powered my whole house with and interlock installed on the panel. Powered two refrigerators, boiler, pumps and all electronics... Easy to start with electric start and is quieter than my older smaller generator. Will idle down when not on load. Power went out for two days last winter, ran it on both propane and gasoline. Will run about twice as long on a tank of gas as it will for 20LB of propane. So gas is cheaper to operate but propane easier to maintain. Use gas for the long outages and propane for the short outages as propane will store for longer, not as messy and not clog your carburetor. Some notes on operation, turn off the idle control / power saver switch when starting up. Once warmed up you can turn on the switch and it will not stall. I have a bunch of APC UPS in my house, most of them do not like the power coming out of this generator, and will stay on or keep switching to battery when powered by the generator. I tried adjusting the UPS firmware to its lowest sensitivity setting but it would still not come off battery when powered by the generator. A bit of an inconvenience, I had to bypass my UPS and plug my computers directly to the generator power, there were no problems and they ran fine. I will note that I have a old Gen (no firmware or sensitivity control) APC UPS does not switch to battery while on the generator. Older is sometimes better... maybe APC will provide a firmware update to fix this problem. From what I read the higher end generators have inline inverters which provide cleaner power and are better for modern sensitive electronics. Most modern UPS are designed to protect sensitive modern electronics from surges in line voltage or for short power outages. The older gen UPS were more concerned with protecting devices from power outages.

Excellent generator!

My generator was discounted to $649 with free shipping, which I though was an excellent bargain. I've had to use it once when the electric company shut down the neighborhood. I'm happy it's dual fuel, though I plan on only using propane with it, since you can store propane forever. Again, it works GREAT!!

Best price for this KW range

I purchased this item on sale because it was the lowest price for this wattage. We only need a generator for emergency use during power cuts once every few years. The hybrid fuel is a great feature - esp at this price point. Shipped via Fedex and received in great condition. Very heavy but most ppl will be able to complete the assembly required. Best to look on YouTube - the manufacturer has put up some handy videos. The generator started right up with no trouble. It is obviously cheaply made and you cannot compare it to expensive units like Honda which are 5-10x the price for this wattage. But if you need a standby unit infrequently and are willing to do regular maintenance to keep the unit running - this is a best buy at the price.

low price high quality

I bought this generator for emergency use, I live where it snows and the electricity goes out to often leaving my home with out heat. For less then the price of one of those small portable generators I got this one and it was able to give power to THREE houses when the power went out. And using propane there is no worry about ever starting after sitting all summer. Great purchase.
