|If you're searching for a heavy metal guitar sound that's ideal for live performances, consider using the DigiTech X-Series Metal Master distortion effects pedal. This high-quality musical device provides guitarists with three distinct effects sounds, which is great for musicians who have varied performance styles. This well-constructed, versatile pedal is built stand up to the rigors of the road. Touring musicians will find that these pedals make great traveling accessories. The Metal Master pedal features DigiTech's impressive AudioDNA technology. Use it with guitars to create a wide array of distortion sounds and effects. The pedal gives electric guitarists complete control over their style thanks to the device's four separate knobs. The first dial is for Level, which gives users control over the effect's output level. The Low control is used to alter the cut and boost of low frequencies while the High knob controls the cut and boost of high frequencies. To morph between the three metal distortion effects, guitarists use the Morph control. Use this dial to create a smooth high gain tone, a scooped mid-range sound, and a punchy mid-range metal sound. By combining these distinct guitar effects, musicians create a music texture that is unique.DigiTech creates products that help musicians refine and individualize their tone. The X-Series Metal Master has separate low and high spectral-contouring EQ. This means that the device adjusts a broader range of frequencies than many typical stompboxes. These DigiTech pedals also feature dual amp and mixer outputs with optional cabinet modeling circuitry. The pedal's advance CIT cabinet modeling technology ensures that guitarists achieve authentic guitar amplifier sounds, even without amps. These heavy metal distortion pedal accessories are housed in a sturdy metal chassis. It measures approximately 5 x 3 x 2 inches and weighs only 1.38 pounds. The design is an appealing combination of rugged and lightweight. It's sturdy enough to last for years, but it's light enough so that it never weighs down your pedalboard too much. Under the metal chassis, the X-Series Metal Master has all the technical specifications a guitarist could ask for. For example, it has an input impedance of 1M Ohms and an output impedance of 100 Ohms. The pedal is powered by a 9V alkaline dry-cell battery. This power supply provides guitarists with up to four hours of playtime with continuous usage. Replacing the battery is a fairly simple process. After replacing the battery, guitarists should make sure the distortion pedal is properly fastened. Guitarists who don't want to rely on battery power use an alternate power source. These distortion pedals have an AC adapter jack, which is used with a PS200R power supply. The pedals also have an input jack, which is meant to connect with the instrument. When a guitar cable is connected to the input, battery power is immediately engaged. DigiTech recommends that users disconnect cables when the devices are not in use as this saves battery power.|

Great pedal for any type of music.
This a great pedal and it is very easy to use. You can go from heavy-thrash tones to 1970's heavy metal like led zeppelin or back sabbath using the Morph effect on the pedal. In general you can get tones for any type of music if you know how to use the pedal ;)
DigiTech Metal Master
This guitar distortion pedal is awesome. It has the ability of high gain and a light crunch and a range of everything in between. Perfect for extreme metal and soloing. It's also great for beginners and also regular guitarists. User friendly and simple to use. You can't go wrong for the price. I also use much more expensive pedals and honestly the DigiTech Metal Master never disappoints me and I use it every day. If you like Death Metal and also like heavy distortion, this is 100% for you!

You got a world of distortion pedals in one stompbox.
This pedal does what at least the one knob says, it morphs. Playing a lot of punk, turning the morph knob to about half give me a light bite and thick palm muting. Moving the dial to 3/4 the low ends were so thick you could cut it with a knife. I have been waivering between the 2 settings that I liked and change them based on the song. I do have to say that the morph up all the way was just too much for me. But then again Metallica isn't one of my more favored bands.
