    Legit product, I bought a cheap knockoff a couple of months ago and it broke a week ago. Installed this and noticed how much better this part is. Don't try and save some money go for this Deezee tailgate assist.

    Fantastic 15 minute add on.

    After researching this through many sources, I made the purchase for the tailgate of my 2005 Silverado 2500 HD. This worked amazingly well, and I wish I would have known about these years ago. Do yourself a huge favor and add one of these, if your tailgate does not already have the tailgate assist feature. It literally took me about 10-15 minutes to add on. Be sure to take a few extra minutes to review the video on YouTube of how to install, as it it gives you hints, like how to keep the original strap from binding. Thank you Dee Zee !!!

    Easy install

    This was installed on a 2006 Silverado 1500. The install was less than 10 minutes and no special tools were required. It works perfectly. Tailgate does not slam down now.......just lowers nice and slow. I would buy again for another truck.Happy with the purchase

    Worth the money

    Works excellent on my Sierra 3500 heavy duty tailgate. I can now release/open the tailgate with one hand. Wish I have bought this sooner. Would definitely recommend for anyone that own a pickup truck.
