For a Flagship TV and being a Sony I expected excellence not mediocrity. Where this 4K shines is in its vivid color depth and brightness, plus it does blacks better than previous LCD/LED sets with some exception and that is some dark areas turn from just black or pixelated grays like other sets to a dark green halo blotch in one case, very annoying. Buying this TV is one of the biggest mistakes I’ve made in a long time and now I have to live with this overly expensive overly hyped set. I will not buy another Sony after this mistake and I use to swear by Sony TV’s. Pros: Great deep colors and darker blacks. Bright display good in bright rooms. Nice looking with decent cable management, hidden behind two pop-out panels on the back of the TV. Cons: Glossy screen so glare can be a problem with windows and sliding glass doors, I still prefer the glossy screens. Motion Halo's worse than my older 4K's I've owned. Not only are the halos a problem but the motion control will perceive a movement and change the image giving you a false, inaccurate, choppy, and/or fuzzy portrayal of what should be a true image. The result is very poor image quality with a false feeling of sharpness. Poor remote control, buttons not positive, direction keys get mixed up with function ring surrounding keys. Poor menu and labeling for control buttons. Instead of selecting Menu and the proper subcategories you need to select is Action Menu or Home but Home isn’t really Settings it’s several different feature ribbons in Home, at the bottom of all of these ribbons is Settings and Sleep Timer. Using Home means you have to exit any streaming to let’s say set the Sleep Timer which is a real bear to get to. You also have Discover, TV, Guide, and Back on the outer ring around the directional keys, not exactly straight forward and very convoluted. Several Picture Modes but none worked well out of the box and I was constantly switching between picture modes depending on what I was watching so I needed to use Custom and calibrate the TV to use it with less annoyances. Sleep timer very difficult to find and use. Slow Menu system for an expensive TV. Sound bar systems, typical Sony very proprietary and only likes Sony Subs and sound systems. Very heavy for its size, due to the full array back-lighting. Bluetooth doesn’t work with my expensive Sennheiser Bluetooth 4.0 Momentum Headphones but I can sinc with my smartphone no problem. My biggest complaint on this TV is the motion control as stated prior, or lack thereof, and the artifacts it creates which I think is also responsible for the green halo blob I see in some dark scenes. If you have a trained eye this is a big deal. Getting around those issues this TV is great once calibrated I can achieve very nice blacks considering and the colors are superior on this set. I wouldn't recommend this TV based on its price, menu system, and its motion issues. I would suggest a cheaper TV that almost does as well and much better in many other ways. Wait until they get these issues figured out, either through new Tech or with a different delivery system. I bought this TV instead of the OLED’s (LG & AE1) because they just are not good in lighted rooms and burn-in is an issue like Plasma’s where, Still. I always liked Sony TV’s as they were the best, unlike their audio systems which suffered from horrible menu structures but now I must say that I will not buy another Sony and wished I would have bought a Samsung or even the high-end Vizio’s (P & M series) over this TV, I lost on this one big. I wasn't sure at first but after reading all the professional reviews i wanted to buy it and it was true Amazing TV especially the refresh rate!!! You should use a 4K HDR Blu Ray Player/Blu Ray Disc to have the full performance of that Monster! Also for gaming my PS4 Pro gaming becomes noticeably better with that TV (pictures, Colors)

Though it's so pricey it's a great tv. It changes the way I watch tv forever, its brightness, its deeper black level which is almost perfect. It gives the highest contrast that gives pictures more depth of feel. It's a heavy and very strong built feel like. I hope it lasts. HDR is great.
