|The A-T AT4010-50E Perpetual Chrono watches from Citizen are stylish accessories for men who love international intrigue. The watch is featured in a titanium protective case that guards the quartz movement from damage. The titanium surface has a black ion plate and looks eye-catching and modern.Citizen has mounted the crown and control buttons in their usual position on the right side of the casing. The bracelet is composed of burnished titanium, measures between 6.5 inches and 7 inches, and is appropriate for most men's sizes. The clasp can be released by triggering the concealed double-push button. The entire package is remarkably stylish and eye-catching, and the attractive appearance is matched by the strength of its construction. The watch is noticeably light in weight, especially since titanium is both stronger and lighter than other metals. The transparent crystal faces on these Citizen watches are almost impossible to scratch or break. They are made from a single piece of synthetic sapphire that has been treated to be non-reflective and easy to clean. This Citizen watch for men is also water-resistant at pressures equivalent to 200 meters in depth. This means that you can wear this watch while you are swimming, bathing, or snorkeling with no problems at all, although you should avoid wearing it when scuba diving. This Citizen A-T AT4010-50E watch features a quality solar powered Eco-Drive system. This perpetual power system has saved an estimated 10 million batteries in America alone. The Eco-Drive works by placing solar collectors under the translucent face of the dial. The watch includes a reserve battery in case it goes more than 180 days without receiving sufficient daylight to recharge. A low-battery reserve indicator will show in the unlikely occurrence that it sits in darkness for too long.In addition to their innovative power supply, all Citizen watches feature notable advances in timekeeping. The clock and the perpetual calendar are both radio controlled, which means that they are always perfectly in synchronization across five time zones and other dates like daylight savings time. This is called the atomic timekeeping system and it works all across Europe, North America, and Japan. These Citizen watches include an integral 1-second chronograph that can measure as long as 60 minutes. The outer ring of the dial has tachymeter markings for convenient estimation of distance and average speed. The luminous white chronograph hour, minute, and second hands are all high contrast and easy to read. There is an alarm function as well as a number of other programmable operations. The solar-powered Eco-Drive and the water-resistant titanium case mean that this is a fantastic watch for outdoor men. After all, the Citizen A-T AT4010-50E never needs to have its time adjusted, and it never runs out of batteries. The case is stronger than steel and the dial is made of a piece of sapphire. That adds up to one fantastic watch, and it looks good enough to wear on any formal dress occasion. All Citizen watches are shipped in a handsome stand-alone display case, so you can show it in your collection.|

Almost the perfect watch and at a bargain price
Key features are: 1. Solar powered Eco drive - never replace a battery. 2. Super hard DLC (diamond like carbon) coated titanium makes it 40% lighter than stainless steel yet 5 times harder and more scratch resistant. 3. Sapphire glass is highly scratch resistant. 4. Radio controlled for atomic accuracy. 5. Perpetual date. 6. Water resistant to 200m. Only minor downsides are: 1. Chronograph only accurate to 1 sec. 2. Radio controlled rather than GPS time. 3. Just 5 supplied time zones. 4. Big date would be great - though Citizen don't seem to do this. Competitor watches like Seiko rarely combine all these features least of all at this price point.

I don't think citizen watches are what they used to be for I think their quality is no longer what it used to be.
I have owned citizen watches for decades and have been very happy with them and I have a citizen echo drive titanium watch that I purchased about 12 years ago or so and it still works perfectly but the quality of that watch which cost me half as much as the new watch I recently purchased to replace it is far better than my new watch that cost twice as much if not more than what I paid for the old one. I like the looks of the new watch and the large face and the fact that it uses a sapphire crystal which is far more scratch resistant than the standard mineral crystal that most of their watches use. But after receiving the watch that is this particular watch almost requires a Master's degree to be able to do the initial setting because every button has multiple uses depending on the sequence of buttons you press and Pull and turn. For I had to and up calling citizen customer service tech support to get help with how to set this watch and nothing makes you feel dumber than not being able to set a watch. I guess one of the largest selling points of this watch is that it is radio controlled which means that it is supposed to pick up a signal from the atomic clock and set itself every night between midnight and 2 AM and any description that is absolutely misleading and deceptive because it says that it is good in 5 time zones and that would mean that anywhere in the United States you should be able to use it with the atomic clock and that was a big selling point for me since I am a stickler when it comes to precision in timekeeping. But where this is deceptive and misleading is that I am in one of those 5 time zones for I live in Kenai Alaska in Alaska Time Zone which is one hour earlier than Pacific time zone but the 5 time zones only 4 of them are for the United States and you guessed it for I just happen to be in the one time zone that this watch does not cover for it does not pick up the atomic clock signal in Alaska for the 5th time zone is not in the United States but rather in Germany of all places. Another comparison between this new watch and my old citizen echo drive titanium watch is that both watches have a tachymeter on the outer bezel but they are supposed to be able to be turned to make them work and my old watch you can turn clockwise as you are supposed to be able to do but the new watch it does not turn it is merely for show and not for function. Another comparison which is a very big disappointment is the titanium bracelet or watchband on my old citizen echo drive has a double locking clasp where you close the latch and it snaps closed and has another latch that flips over the top of the main latch to double locked it to prevent it from accidentally unlocking itself but this new watch does not have a double latch only a single latch that you press to side buttons to lock it in place but the side buttons are so weak that just barely touching them unlocks the band with even the slightest pressure and I really dislike that. So I definitely have mixed feelings about this watch both good and bad but this is my opinion for what it's worth and hopes that this will help somebody in their decision on purchasing wristwatch. Best regards, Don B.

Awesome Entry Level Watch
Awesome entry level watch. The titanium makes it super lightweight. The Small blue bands around the two outside buttons along with the time zone needle really pop on the black and chrome background. The watch is easy to read and there isn't too much going on which I believe makes a watch an eyesore. It also doesn't look to fancy which I like, because most fancy looking watches are pretty cheap. The watch doesn't scratch easily and if it does it can be polished out. Its not too big either which is great for me because I don't have the most robust wrists in the world. The watch glows bright at night. There are a lot of nice features such as the watch self corrects itself at 2:00am. You can also switch time zones quickly and easily which is sweet for traveling places. I wear this watch to my professional office job everyday as well as when I go hang out with friends and family. I have not a clue how to use the tachymeter but it looks pretty stylish on my wrist. There are a bunch of features on this watch that I am not even aware of however this watch isn't going anywhere so I have tons of time to learn. I am glad that I bought this watch instead of a cheaper one. I looked at watches for over two years before purchasing this one. I am also glad that I didn't purchase a more expensive watch, at least for now, such as an omega. I know Omega is a better watch but this one is a great everyday watch.

Great watch, worth every penny
This watch is great, very stylish and sleek packed with features. I'm not really a guy who uses features, but it's great to know they are there! A few small things to keep in mind. FULLY charge the watch before attempting to set it. Running the signal and automatic setting takes a lot of juice. If you do not line in one the 5 timezones you need to first let the watch automatically update to the time zone nearest to you, and then set to A-TM and set your local time. The date and day are not settable manually so you need that automatic update to get this on track. It confuses me however that the second atomic radio clock it gets its signals from is in Germany, but it doesn't have a German (CET/CEST) time setting.

Great watch, very light
I bought this watch after having an AT 4004 for a year. Love this style watch, looks complex, but is easy to read and dials are clear, even in dark. The automated time update and solar battery are great for low maintenance. I wanted this one b/c I figured Titanium would be nice and light for everyday wear. That's exactly what this watch is...about half the weight of the stainless steel version I have. Lighter then some of my smaller watches. Great for golf where a heavier watch can be bothersome. Great watch for daily, all day wearing, and it's always charged, and date/time is always correct. Love It. My only wish is that it came in different colors with the titanium case/band.
