they seems to be very sturdy in design. There are a few things that I have questions in concerns with long term use. The mechanism that is used for zooming leaves me curious about how well it will hold up to over time, but consider that a limited life time warranty would probably cover any issues with the mechanism. The initial night of the unpacking, it was cloudy and I only managed to run some test on a street lamp outside to test the clarity of the optics. They seems to be fairly sharp at 25x and develop a minimal dulling of the image at 125x. Overall, I was pleased with the performance comparing it with a Orion 10-25x42mm monocular that I had purchased a few years back. The second night, the sky was clearer and I managed to view Jupiter and three moons clearly at 25x. I also increased the magnification to 125x, and seemed to continue to get a pretty sharp image with minimal dulling of the edges of Jupiter. The binoculars were not able to produce any surface detail on Jupiter. I will have to consider that this might be due to many different reasons outside of the control of the binoculars themselves. A slightly shaky tripod might have had an impact on my ability to get a optimal focus with the focus knob and might have hampered my ability of my eyes to focus on Jupiter long enough to discern the surface detail. I also live in the suburbs of Memphis and light pollution might have also affected the amount of light gathering capability. I did also view Orion's Nebula and could visually discern at least seven of the night stars. Three of them being more fuzzy spots than sharp stars. I am very pleased with the performance of these binoculars in comparison to my expectation and a medial step between my monocular and my telescope. It is a step up from my monocular and two steps down from my telescope, but your talking about 42mm monocular ($79) versus 80mm binoculars($129) versus 127mm($1400) and 180mm($3000) telescopes. For what I was looking for and based on the money that I paid for the binoculars, I think that this was an extremely great purchase. CommentWas this review helpful to you? I gave them a 5 star because they are easy to adjust and worked good after adjustment. Any binocular can be bumped during shipping and knocked out of whack a bit. You just have to find the adjustment screws and use a flat screwdriver from an eyeglass kit to adjust. The screws are under the rubber near the center focus knob as you are holding them as you are looking through them. You will need to carefully pry up the rubber a bit to get to them. The screws are in located in the shallow hole. There are two holes on each side. You can actually see the screws. The deeper hole who know what that is for. I did not need to poke into them. As you are looking through the binoculars have a eyeglRead full review
Purchased for size and magnification. Land and sky use. My item was not new but slightly used, it arrived and the right eye could not focus sharp. It was repaired by Celestron actually replaced new and I had to have the original receipt. With the help of the seller I got the receipt. They work great, the only thing I recommend is do not treat them tough. These bino's are sensitive and not built tank tough. My problem was the magnification lever must have jumped a tape tooth. For sky viewing you'll really only use 25x, the FOV gets real small for higher power. For land viewing I can see using higher power but you'll most likely need in both cases a tripod mount. For sky the tripod needs to be much taller than the Celestron heavy duty type I have. You'll find yourself squatting too much. They are hefty, to bouncy a view for manual handling. I really like my set and am having a great time using them. Just take care of them and do not force any levers, movement should be done slowly and with ease on the magnification lever.Read full review
Read full review

Celestron did it again with the 25-125X80 astronomy binoculars !! So nice and portable and when attached to a tripod the only other thing you need is a comfortable chair and a clear night. The Zoom feature is really cool. Not like with a telescope where you have to change eyepieces to zoom in on an object, all you do is move the leaver for close up viewing. They are a bit heavy without a tripod but when attached to one it is like having a short tube 80mm refractor with two eyepieces. Highly recommended for terrestrial viewing also. I give it a 5 star hands down rating !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They are large in size, but are a high quality item. Iwas amazed at the power and quality they were at an affordable price. They are a great pair of high magnification binoculars. Excellent item for hunters, bird watchers, outdoorsmen, etc. Great for parents to use with their children. I would recommend getting the tripod to steady your view at the long distances they can reach.
