Desirable upgrade from the 5D
Had used the 5D for many years. Recently bought the Mark III. They are both full-frame professional cameras. The upgrades on the Mark III are desirable. First, the ISO goes from auto to 100 to 25,600. Noise at levels I've explored is not detectable. I needed this feature for darker venues with and without speedlights. There is an automatic cleaning sensor. There is a lock to change from AV to TV, etc. so mistakes are averted. Of course, there are more pixels and video. The display is larger. It is easy to adapt to the new camera. There is new software which can be downloaded from the internet, I have the disc. Style settings as in the 5D are available, however the default settings for the styles are impressive. I'm exploring the manual and eager to learn the new bells and whistles. Be careful when you buy this camera - you might fall in love.

Canon was holding back
I think holding back tech poisons a brand. I bought the Mk3 for improved autofocus over the 6D but really it doesn't do that well. On the 6D the center focus point is +/- 3EV (focuses will in low contrast situations like a dimly lit room) On the 5D Mk 3 it's a +/-2 EV (Thats worse than the 6D) but it makes up for it supposedly with more AF Points. Well that's fine I guess it makes that difference marginal. You can focus and recompose if you're not close to your subject with the 6D in low light and you'll nail focus better. If you're at the minimum distance, in low light when focus and recompos wont work the 5D3 might get the shot but a lot of the time +/- 2EV won't find it. They also left out GPS and wifi which I don't care about because they did a terrible job implimenting that in the 6D anyway. It's heavier than the 6D They also have waited over 4 years to update it when other companies make a new edition every 2 or so. A lot of people are itching to leave Canon/Nikon and I don't blame them.

Love my full frame camera!
I call myself a "Hobbyist" Photographer. I shoot a lot of pet portraits, dogs for rescue groups, landscapes and weddings. I finally took the plunge and upgrades to my first full frame camera. Having come from a Canon 7D II, I am very used to the menus and settings so there was a very small learning curve. If you are getting a camera to have the camera do all of the work, I would say look at a simpler camera - this one is not for you. If you have moved beyond and want to take control - this camera is awesome and does very well in low light. One small disadvantage for the average photographer is there is no on-board flash. I have a collection of canon flashes and can easily overcome this but you will need a flash or some lighting if you get this camera. When I took my first shots, I could immediately tell there was a major difference, even from my Canon 7D II. Solid, quick (very important when you are shooting rescue dogs who rarely sit still) and felt wonderful. First time I have been excited about a camera product in a long time. Wish I could upload a pic to show, but trust me, if you have moved beyond the realm of photo's for fun and are ready to get serious, this is the perfect instrument!

What I saw is what I got, a great camera
The camera body is as shown, and in great condition. It came with a battery grip which is shown but I actually forgot about it, so when I opened the box it was a great surprise. It will be very useful for weddings and long days. I was using a 6D before this and this is 100g heavier (without the battery grip) and it doesn’t sound like much but it’s kinda noticeable. It wouldn’t be worth mentioning if I was using a light lens like a 50mm but I use a very heavy Tokina 24-70 lens, it’s heavier than the camera, so now my setup is 4 pounds total The upgrade of focus points is excellent. I use some custom functions that I love, and I think it even came set up with back-button focus which I’m excited to try. Overall this is an excellent product for the price that I’m excited to use for the next 2-3 years. I just did my first shoot with it the other day, I will attach photos from it. The first 4 photos I had a plastic bag over my lens and it did a decent job focusing through the bag. The last photo was taken with a canon 85mm 1.8 at f4 with an ISO of 800. It’s super sharp and there’s virtually no noise whatsoever. I’m excited to push the ISO of this camera.

The camera was in mint condition. This is one of Canon's best cameras. It has all the features of a full-frame camera. It has up-to-date sensor, improved autofocus features, and a sturdy build. I had the original 5D I bought in 2007. I needed to upgrade to a higher pixel count for printed enlargements. This camera nearly doubles the pixel count. I like to shoot bird pictures, and the 5 D iii features a fast 6 frames per second capability. I didn't want to break the bank on buying the newest and latest model. This is the perfect camera for my needs.
