For the money, this is a nice rest. It’s pretty heavy and made from quality materials. The windage adjustable top is well made with no backlash and smooth adjustment. Only 4 stars because I compared it with a 400$ Sinclair. The machining and fit of the Sinclair parts was better but I see no reason that the Caldwell rest won’t be just as functional

It is not anything special for $160. The adjustments are pretty crude and not repeatable for 200yd. F-Class rimfire BR shooting. I have a Steady Rest NxT rest made by Caldwell ie (all plastic), that works much better for $29.00 🙄 It is made of crude cast metal and has to be adjusted with every shot. Caldwell could have at least included a leather rest instead a coarse cloth bag with hardly any padding. Not a good value at any price. Shooting with AnschutzMPR-R & .CZ455 rifles.

I took my time to take it to the range before submitting a review. About 2 years ago I bought their Caldwell original version, which was okay, but flawed. It was rough for both elevation and windage adjustments. Kind of defective, when lowering the elevation, it would kind of hang up and you had to bump it in order to lower the turret. All those problems seem to be gone with the new version. Adjustment qualities are smooth and no more lowering/stuck problems. I can tell that the working parts have been upgraded. I will use this for rifle benchrest competition, and so far I'm pleased. Of course you can get yourself $1,000+ rest, but for me this is more than sufficient and well worth the price.

This is a quality, heavy shooting rest. I love testing various loads and light weight or sled type rest won’t work for me. I can easily get into position to accurately fire my rifles.

I had used one of these rests that a friend of mine had purchased in bench rest competition. This rest is of good quality and the adjustments are really smooth and easy to do. I really like it..

First of, it is Tall even screwed as low as possible...one needs to use the tallest Caldwell rear rifle rest this should have been mentioned. I had bought the medium height rear rest..too low had to shim up with a 2 X 8 piece of wood...so ended ordering the Caldwell high rear rifle rest...someone need to inform future buyers of this problem...NOTE TALL REAR RIFLE REST IS RECOMENDED!

Love the fine adjustment for elevation and windage, makes dialing in at 500 yards a snap. The rest is the same as the front rest on my buddy's lead sled, but a lot more portable. Combine with a rear sand bag, and you're good to go.

This is worth the money except they should make the bottom adjustable feet flat without the spikes, gun clubs don’t want you scratching their concrete pads for prone shooting or making holes in their wooden benches so now everyone has to go purchase the feet for them go figure we lose again

Good solid platform for range work. Adjustments tightened all looseness and easy to fine tone. Should have bought one years ago instead of using range bags.
