High quality quality product with a lot of functionality.
It took some time getting it setup (mostly because I am new to NAS devices), but it is high quality and operates perfectly. I especially like the ability to shutdown my PC over the local network when power is lost at my Smart UPS and it detects that the UPS battery is low. I was very pleased that it also had the ability to be accessed remotely even with my dynamic IP address. The ability to shutdown my PC over the network was not well documented. But with some research I was able to set this up and it works perfectly.

Highly configurable
I started with a DS918+ and was so happy with it I then bought 2 DS 418's to replace 2 older Seagate NSA. These are sooo much faster and much more configurable it is like moving into the next century. Even using one as a DHCP server now. Even connects easily with my domains and domain users.

Compact unit and little noise unless moving lots of files
Works as specified. Would have been easier to set up with a little hand holding as I have not had experience with this operating system. Answers are available online and by asking questions can find the how to.

Lightning Fasst
I set this NAS up with four WD Red Pro 4 TB hard drives and two 256 GB m.2 drives and it is a lot faster than my old NAS box. I just wish that the software would allow the 16 GB RAM upgrade.
