blackberrry 8320...pleased !
This is my first blackberry cellphone. The main reasons why I purchased this module over others was because it has WiFi access & I wanted to see what all the "hype" of blackberry ownership was about. I was a little concerned because others indicated that the keys on the keypad where not big enough to prevent inadvertently typing the wrong keys and causing spelling errors. It's taken me awhile to make the purchase since the price of blackberry phones can be a little costly, I didn't want to make the investment and be disappointed. I guess it's all up to each individual user. I'm really enjoying the ease of using the keypad, the ability to download different apps, and the ability to access my email and use the web with/without the blackberry service via wi-fi at home and at various hotspots. There is so much to learn about the functionality of a blackberry that I know it will take me some time to learn it all. But I would recommend that others get a phone with more available memory so that they can add as many apps as they want without fear of running out of memory. So far, so good...I think the purchase was a good one.
Best Phone I have ever owned.
The blackberry curve 8320 is an amazing phone. The screen is brilliant, the programs responsive, and I love the keyboard, rarely any mistypes and I love that it is actual buttons (I still hate to text on touchscreen phones). My only problem ever is when I initially bought and was downloading applications, it froze a few times and I had to restart it, not a big deal. Also, the video quality online is mediocre at best. WIFI is fast, while not the best browser available still great for reading the news or checking email, keeps me busy on the bus. I recommend downloading OperaMini as a browser, must faster than the blackberry browser. Overall, the best phone I have ever purchased. High quality, reliable, well constructed, beautiful screen, fast, great for texting and writing emails, perfect size. I love it.
Great Phone, but Bad Service
I love this phone. I learn how to do a new thing with it everyday. I've downloaded several apps and they range from fun to very helpful. The BOOST Mobile Network is 20X more reliable then the Comcast connection we have in our home which is utterly terrible (always getting kicked off and having to fight our way back on!)! I'm going to order a 16 gigabyte memory card from Ebay for Xmas and then I'll be able to teach myself how to do even more fun things with the Blackberry Curve like putting music and TV shows on the thing so my iPod will be come pretty much useless except for DRM protected files I bought from iTunes Store. The only problem with this phone isn't a problem with a phone at all. The thing is, if you're going to buy the Blackberry Curve, don't buy the one that's for BOOST subscribers, especially if you live in the rural NJ area!! I have to go outside just to maybe get ONE BAR!! I should have suspected that this would happen because my last BOOST phone was the same way, but a lot of people told me that much of the time it's not the service, it's the handset. They turned out to be 100 percent WRONG!! The service still sucks just as bad using a $200 BOOST handset as it did when I was using a cheap $30 handset I got from BEST BUY!! Don't let them fool you! I don't understand how BOOST's Mobile Network for using the wireless internet can work in my home pretty much from an area where I'm near a window, but I have to go outside and practically climb on to the damn roof just to get one bar if I want to call somebody. But then again, I have never had a phone that has had good reception in this area. Not Verizon or T-Mobile has been any better. Omnipoint was even worse but that was a decade ago. From what I understand AT&T works wonders, but I don't have good enough credit anymore so I'm screwed unless I switch to CRICKET, but then I'll have to buy a new phone again!
a bag of hurt
I purchased this phone because i need a smart phone that would support work email requirements as well as not break the bank. Likes: - Wifi - Cost effective - Bluetooth Dislikes: - Complex UI configurations structure. (you can tunnel through the the 4 different levels of options menus for days to try and configure this device) - Blackberry's App store implementation is just annoying. - Lack of ability to download and run apps from the expandable MicroSIM card. Apps are relegated to onboard memory only - Blackberry's complex Email implementation is a pain w/ Tmobile Service. (once you activate the Blackberry Enterprise Data Service w/ Tmobile it conflicts w/ The Personal Data Service and often times results in many BB apps like (facebook, gmail, etc. ) not working.
great phone for the price!
full keyboard, expandable memory, blackberry messenger, durable, decent camera, video capable, cheap accessories and fun to bid on... if your looking for a phone that can handle a lot of texting, songs and pics/vids while holding decent charge while decently priced, this is a great phone! the screen isnt so big but this phone doesnt have wifi anyway, it does have a browser so if you need to go online to check something you have away to do it.
