I changed over from a geared motor drive to this belt motor drive. I hooked it up and turned it on and nothing! The motor turned but the worm gear wouldn't turn the turntable. Turns out the drive belt was stretched and wasn't tight enough to turn the worm gear. Fortunately Atlas supplied a replacement belt. But nowhere in the instructions do the tell you how to change the belt. Two of the four pulleys are secured in brackets on both sides. There's no way to get the belt off and no directions. I emailed Atlas and they called me the next day. You have to spread apart the two brackets to release the top pulley. Then you can squeeze the new belt past the pulley. Put it all back together and it works just fine.

I bought one of these units not knowing the design had changed. The one i got was designed with nylon gears, which might have been ok if the motor shaft was splined. It wasn’t so the gear spawn on the shaft and didn’t move the rest of the gears and turntable. After several attempts of fixing it, I gave up and bought another one with metal pullies and rubber band. It works fine.
