Beat headset ever
I have been bouncing between headsets for years, never really landing on one that fits everything I needed or the standard of quality I expect. I work in music gear retail and the heaphone experience in Production Audio has always been leagues ahead of the consumer class. However, the A50 feels like a pro unit and the sound quality is fantastic. I love being able to fine tune the mic monitoring and EQ on the PC app and being able to use it on both Xbox and PC is quite nice. Do yourself a favor and buy one of these.

Great Product
Product arrived in great condition, and has worked almost flawlessly ever since. Definitely would make this purchase again. Amazing 7.1 Surround quality, great built-in & customizable EQ presets, fantastic mic and filters/gates built in, perfect for both casual gaming with friends and pro level streaming. My gaming sessions typically last up to 6 hours at a time and the battery has never dropped below 50% even after 6 straight hours of use. Very handy controls on the right ear to switch between game and voice channels, and on the back of the ear great placement of the on/off switch, Surround/stereo button, EQ preset switch and volume control. The only problem I have had is one time the headphones didn't want to turn on even after a full charge, but after some googling I fixed it by unplugging the base station, and plugging it back up, then pressing the Dolby button and game button simultaneously for a few seconds with the power switch in the on position and letting the headphones reconnect to the base. The charging pins on the base could have been designed a little better. The headphones have to sit just right on the base to make sure they begin charging, but it may be a little more difficult for me because the base sits behind a couch on top of my pc tower and barely in reach without walking all the way around the couch. Maybe the next generation will be different. Overall, this being my first legit pair of gaming headphones, I'd give them 4.5 out of 5 stars and only due to the charger base design. No complaints otherwise.

Great headset but not worth 300 list price
Ok it is a great headset of excellent build quality, super comfortable to wear, and the controls are pretty easy to navigate. The sound ?? This is where i'm on the fence on the A50's. I own several turtle beach headsets, X41,X42,The Black ops 2 Tangos and the Black ops 2 X-rays and to be honest the sound of the Turtle Beach's is better then the Astro's. At least to my ears they are. Don't get me wrong the Astro's are great BUT it's the sound quality that matters and in my opinion this is where the Astro A50 fall short to the Turtle Beach. All of the above headsets mentioned have much more volume, better surround effects, better bass and treble. For the list price of 300 I say NO !!

Mic isn't the best.
The biggest complaint about this headset is the Mic. You pay more for next-gen headset but get a previous gen Mic. Putting a foam windscreen helps with background noise. The only other complaint is having to switch the USB from pc to Xbox whenever you want to switch.
