I bought my Alpine MRP-M1000 amp about 2 months ago. I have it pushing two Alpine type R 12's. It works great and it's much cheaper than some of the other higher end amps. I have 4 ohm speakers so I don't get the full 1000 watts only 600. If have 4 ohm speakers and want the full 1000 watt power I recommend getting the Alpine PDX 1.1000 It will cost you and extra $100 - $150 but if you have the money to spare it is well worth it. It's an overall great amp and it's hard to find a better deal without sacrificing quality.
I like this amp. It is a great amp, especially for the money. This amp powers my Kicker CVR's in a ported box great. Its a great match up too. I bought it here because the price was unbeatable. The amp arrived in great shape and packaging. All of the original pagaging and supplies were there. The amp also arrived in just a couple of days. I think Alpine makes great equipment. I am going to be keeping my eye on them for future purchases. I have this amp wired 4 ohms and puts out 600 watts it says which works great for my subs. My subs are 400 watts rms. With a ported box you need to take off 100 watts. I would recomend this amp. There may be better amps out there but there are certainly a lot worse.
i had a jl 300/4 pushing a set of focal 690cvx and focal component 6.5 v1's. and a 500/1 pushing one directed 10 dvc. it sounded good but for the rep. that JL has for being the best i did not see why. i talked to a guy at a local stereo shop and he said JL was over priced, he told me that he used to sell JL and the return rate was substantually high. he suggested i try alpine. so i sold my 500/1 (retails for $600) sold on e-bay for $200, took that money and bought a Alpine MPR-1000, the amp does not only have twice the wattage( which is measured in true RMS wattage like JL) but the clairty of this amp blew me away, it sounded a lot better than jl. not a whole lot louder but a lot cleaner, even with all the settings JL has on their amps. I was so impressed i went out and replaced my JL 300/4 with alpine's top of the line PDX series amp. i bought the PDX-4.100. i put it in yesterday and my focal speakers came alive much more than with the so-called top of the line JL. i have always been impressed with alpine from the first time i bought a v-power amp 10 years ago to the first time i heard my buddy's 6x9 speakers in his first car back in high school. you tend to compare stereo equiptment based somewhat on price and coming from someone who has heard it all. alpine is one of the cheapest and definently the best sounding all around (subs, amps, speakers, decks). and their product has always been quality. I'm soldRead full review
Other than it being damaged during delivery, it's a great Amp. Great high quality sound and the power to push my Subs no problem. I love it. Wish the design was a bit more durable but for the deal I got, it was a great buy.

I bought the amp pretty cheap on ebay so definitely it was worth the money. It is rated at 1000rms watt at 2 ohm and it makes my 12'' L7 pound like crazy. I seriously was thinking to get 2 L7 b/c one of these day, the amp would blow that sub apart. I listen to music a lot b/c I drive long distance, and so the amp never over heat. It would just get warm, but that it. Over all, amp is awesome!
