    processor

    Although it is getting a bit long in the tooth, this older Athlon dual-core processor is still a solid buy. Make sure you get a processor that is AM2 and not the older Socket 939. That way, with an AM2+ motherboard, you will have a clear upgrade path in the future. Also, be aware that this is a mid-watt model, with a TDP of 89w. Some motherboards cannot accept a TDP over 95w. This processor is a good buy now - I spent a little more because it came with a fan and heatsink - and a decent fan is essential. This is replacing an older P4 640 processor, and is a much-needed upgrade (and the P4 mobo was wearing out). I decided to buy this one because it came with a fan and heatsink, and the timing was right. It was a hard-fought auction. I had lost several other auctions for dual core processors ...

    Older technology, but still does the job.

    Best deal I could find for what I needed. It's been working great from day one. It was set in a foxcon am2+ board with 2megs of ddr2 and nvidia 8400 graphics card. Not leading edge. but great for surfing the web and simple games. I use Linux Mint as the OS. Fast and stable.

    AMD, Power full... yet cheaper ! I am a computer technician and I make a lot computer for any kind of people and This processor fit the back for the buck in other works It make the work well done if you are looking for a Home PC , not too Power full but not too lazily.Very Fast for the Price!
