Brush cutter attachment
A product very good quality well designed for its work purpose cuts rough brambles with ease some vibration when getting in to heavy material . A good by for all diy fans . On my striker 48 cc multi tool I had to get a nut to fit and a washer to fix the blade to to strummer head . No working problems . I found I had a broken striker spool with the right size nut moulded into the spool housing so I cut it down to size with a washer behind the spool . All good now it works better , with no problems . Hope this helps all diy fans . I have tried to edge off the lawn it does the job but splatters derbies around a bit you should wear eye and head protection old chain saw helmet ideal.

Great on thicker stuff, not so great on grass.
I bought this product to cut through some overgrown stuff around my garden and for that purpose, it works perfectly. Although the blades felt pretty sharp out of the box, when i started using it, i realised they actually weren't all that. After sharpening them, the tool worked like a dream, cutting through the thickest of brambles with ease. With grass, however, it doesn't really work for a couple of reasons. The tool makes the trimmer about 2-3 inches shorter, so the guard hits the ground before the tool does. After adjusting the guard, i found the nut holding the tool sticks out too much making it almost impossible to get close to the ground as every time it touches it, it pitches the blades down. I would definitely recommend this tool if its purpose is solely for heavy vegetation but for grass, the string is still the best option.

...super-effective on nettles and brambles.
Somewhere between a strimmer and a brushcutter blade, super-effective on nettles and brambles. It's a direct replacement in the brushcutter head of my Ryobi Expand-it tool, just drops straight in. Looks like it'll be reversible when the blades wear down too. It doesn't bind up like a strimmer, doesn't 'kick' quite as hard as a brushcutter when you catch a thin branch. It's not quite as good at cutting long grass in the short term (mostly because the cutting arc, while bigger than a brushcutter, is smaller than a strimmer's arc), but the lack of needing to bump the cord out and occasionally detangle it easily makes up for that. Clearing a patch of nettles was a lot quicker with this that with the strimmer head, and it made short work of some thin ground elder stems too. I'd highly recommend it,
